Pilots might not think...

Quoted

Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 52 %

that trying to land on a place like that would be a good idea.

OTOH, the ship's sheer size should help some.

SS also assumes that all the 20,000 tons is situated some 10 feet above the deck or so. I just mess around a bit so Stability is >1.05 and steadiness is > 50%. The more miscellaneous weight you add to a ship, the lower those 2 figures will be.

The American tourists want to know:

Where the McDonald's is.

Where the Walmart is.

Where they can park their SUV's

Where the McDonald's is.

As far as I can see, at the moment it's only located at West 14th and 1398 North E Street in San Bernardino, California. If Mr. R.J. McDonald and Mr. M.J. McDonald want to expand thier business overseas, then they are welcome to open a restaurant aboard the ship (and other locations in Japan). :)

Where the Walmart is.

What's a Walmart? (Won't be around until the 1960s)

What's a Suv? (that's a modern term for that type of vehicle)

Shimakaze class?

This seems to be a rather extreme design; I would really wonder how she would stand a typhoon or other heavy weather. The torpedo battery is powerful, but I have to question is it worth the cost.

I would think that the same could be said about the OTL one. Of course you can't really sim that one with SS... which I was attempting to do...

Tsugaru class

Over 3,600t and she's slower than a CL and packs less punch than a DD? I realize she probably carries a lot of mines, but it smells like bait to me. She'll have to have an escort wherever she goes since she can't run or fight. I'd rather, and did in fact, settle on a design w/ less mine capacity and more speed for getting in and out and more firepower for when you run into trouble.

Also, apparently Japan plans on mining someone...that's a lot of minelayers.
