The Bulgarian Air Force delivered a note to the Yugoslavian government expressing their interest in evaluating the Soko Orao fighter for possible purchase and license-production at DAR.

With the approaching completion of the Rousse-Giurgiu Friendship Bridge over the Danube, work on the A2 Autostrada between Rousse and Burgas has picked up the pace, with construction said to be one-quarter complete at the beginning of August. The A2 will cross the Rousse-Giurgiu Bridge, connecting the Black Sea city of Burgas to the Romanian capital of Bucharest.

Farmers working in a field near Stara Zagora have unearthed a small cache of medieval artifacts. Archaeologists from the University of Sofia have suggested that the artifacts, mostly household items, originate from the time of the Byzantine-Bulgarian wars and were probably buried to hide them from raiders.

The Bulgarian Navy confirmed that it has purchased four German T-1 class torpedo boats. They will be named the Gordi-class.

The Sofia Zoo announced that they have acquired a family of seven Asiatic Golden Cats. The cats, acquired from Indochina, are the latest addition in the Zoo's growing population of animals from around the world.

The Cultural Attache in the German Embassy in Sofia makes a note to alert someone in the Fatherland in time for next year's event. He thinks that Carmina Burana might be a better soundtrack though. ;)
