- The converted carrier Suffren, being converted as a pilot training ship, does not have a Groupement assigned, with training units assigned by flotilles on an as-needed basis.
- Equipment as of Q4/1940 is shown.
- Upon the Force de Raid's return to Toulon following the Indochina deployment, the flotilles will begin converting to new aircraft types becoming available in 1941: the Bloch MB.1050 Milan and the Breguet Br.890 and Latécoère Late-550 Épaulard. Squadrons will be withdrawn and re-equipped as aircraft become available. The 4e Groupement, being in France while the Force de Raid is deployed, will probably be the first to receive new aircraft.
- The carrier L'Ocean, which completes in Q1/1941, will receive a Groupement upon her completion.
