November 30th

It was announced today that an order for 8 of the Yugoslavian Ikarus IK-4 Sjevernjaca Aircrew Trainer and Transport had been placed. There is a rider for an additional order of 8 if the first batch is considered successful in service.

And there is great rejoicing in Belgrade! Coming on the heels of the Syrian order, Ikarus is beside itself!

December 5th
The four X-200 class Large Landing Craft and the 2 SLC-65 class Small Landing Craft all complete their acceptance trials today and are assigned to the Training Division for Amphibious Landing Exercises.

December 15th
The last two of the Eptanisa class Fleet Destroyers, Zakynthos and Kythira complete their sea trials today and are officially accepted into the Royal Hellenic Navy. They will form the 10 Flotilla of the 1st Destroyer Squadron and will be tasked with providing escort to the Main Battle Fleet in any actions they are involved in.

December 25th
Church bells chime as Christmas is celebrated throughout Greece.

December 31st
The end of the year is marked by the completion of the extension of Dock #4 at Souda Bay from a Type 1 to a Type 1.5. The additional length will allow larger ships to receive refits and damage repair at the Naval Yard.
