Facilities: Bozhurishte Military Flying School, Maintenance Shops, Sofia ADC headquarters.
Notes: First Bulgarian Air Force base constructed; almost all active VNVV units trace their lineage to creation at Bozhurishte.

Vrazhdebna Air Base / City of Sofia Civil Airport:

Location: East of Sofia
Runway Length: 1 runway 2,000 meters, 1 runway 900 meters
Surface: Concrete
Facilities: DAR aircraft factory; maintenance shops, earthen revetments for aircraft protection, covered maintenance sheds
Notes: Doubles as main airport for city of Sofia.

Graf Ignatievo Air Base:
Command: Maritsa
Location: North of Plovdiv
Runway Length: 1,800 meters, site is capable of expansion
Surface: Concrete runway, grass apron
Facilities: Maintenance shops; ADC headquarters for Maritsa region, Graf Ignatievo Military Flying School, covered earthen revetments
Notes: Doubles as main airport for city of Plovdiv. Originally built by the Germans for the Great War for basing zeppelins.

Location: East of town of Balchik, 30 kilometers northeast of Varna
Runway Length: 1,800 meters
Surface: Concrete runway with concrete apron
Facilities: Earthen revetments, covered concrete revetments, Black Sea ADC headquarters, maintenance facilities
Notes: Comprehensively reconstructed in 1938. Airstrip and apron is highly recognizable due to the concrete being poured in interlocking hexagons
