How to produce armor plates that thick?

6x20" guns on 60k tons does not sound too good. Why such heavy guns? You will buy more problems than firepower with these. Have you read about the blast problems on real world BBs of the WW2 era, namely the Yamato? ;o)

Why would 600mm armor be a problem? OTL ships with that kind of armor were in service or planned for production.

As for guns I like big guns and nope never heard of this Yamato you speak of.

What a monster!

Most of my comments are perhaps more preference than substance but in my opinion, she is far too large to be practical.

Under our rules, it would take nearly six years to build her - which is far too long, given the rate of technological change.

A straight-stem just looks wrong - there ought to be some angle on the bow. Also, with all that tonnage, she ought not to be wet forward - I think more freeboard is called for.

I know many of our members like concentrating all the armament forward - I'm not one of them. And putting somee 4.1 inch secondaries in barbettes aft seems a waste of tonnage. Having the DP armament in barbettes - particularly those located on the side - probably contributes to stability issues.

It may be a floating fortress but one not worth the money.
