Slightly different

How about this one. This one is actually under the 31,500 tons (thanks to the range) and using as many guns as your design:

Hmmm....

With a draught of nearly 10m wouldn´t you get proplems with some harbors?

Just curious...

5

Monday, May 31st 2004, 5:04pm

It depends on which harbours, the US was limited to ~32ft deep as a practical limit. There wasn't really a limit for the UK. For Italy, the Vittorio's had a draught of 34ft+.

It just depends on which country you are.

I don't see Cadiz, Cartagena, Barreiro, Macao, Panama and Santiago having any kind of depth issue. Maybe I am wrong, I admit to not having researched it.

What about harbours of conquored nations?

you mean like Maracaibo Bay? *ducks and runs* or the Solent?

9

Tuesday, June 1st 2004, 12:15pm

I don't think you'll have any problems with depth in the Solent if you can sail QM2 up there.

I don't think you'll have any problems with depth in the Solent if you can sail QM2 up there.

Well, perhaps these days that is possible, but would it also have been possible 80 years ago?

"you mean like Maracaibo Bay? *ducks and runs* or the Solent?"

Acctully more like the straights leading to Lago de Maracaibo, If you get past there you deserve to get access to the bay!
