Day 0 pics...

... at Gilze-Rijen... Tomorrow's the first day of the airshow. I was standing at quite a nice spot as the planes flew right over me. My ears are still ringing though...

It just would not sound the same then. :)
Rather to become deaf from the noise of jet engines than those blasted Vuvuzelas.

Nice photos, seems to be a good deal on display.

I'm pretty sure the F-35 is just a mockup. There's one airframe up at Brough in the UK doing testing but I think all the others are still stateside.

I'm off up to the airshow at RAF Waddington in a few weeks (and getting paid for it!) so will have some good pics from that I hope.

Also planning to go up to Farnborough later in July.

Gavin, your getting paid to go to airshows? Hope your getting a good VIP ticket. I'd of thought going to Farnborough would have been more in your line than Waddington.
And the government is trying to save money... :D (I think we'd all rather governments paid us to go to airshows)

Also guys since I work in Audiology I think I should warn you all to wear earplugs when exposed to loud low-flying jets and idiots with Vuvuzelas. I don't want you all suffering with Tinnitus and shouting "Eh, Sorry Deary I can't hear you!" when your 70. ;)

Considering the commercial aspects, I would not be surprised that the real one would be present at Le Bourget and Farnborough. Problem was that it was too far away from the crowd so, unlike yesterday, I could not knock on the JSF's fuselage last year. Not sure how it will be at Farnborough.

If all goes as planned, I should be there on the Saturday. Somehow, I think that, crowd-wise, it will be as bad as the Saturday of Le Bourget last year.

In a sense that is true for the KLu's Open Days since entry is free. :) It still managed to draw 150,000 visitors on Saturday, despite the soccer match.

Rather a jet than a Vuvuzela.

Looking around, a few videos from youtube. The first video is from Thursday. The last group is from a guy who hasn't uploaded all his video bits yet.

It was a case of; "Does anyone want to go and man a stand up at Waddington airshow?" Yes, I definitely do, and getting paid for it is a bonus.

I'm probably going to be up at Farnborough in the week for one of the "trade" days to have a good poke around and do some information gathering. Likely go up Saturday as well for more of the flying displays.
