Was just wondering if the large light cruiser design is the correct one...

Quite the night-fighter/infighter there

The superstructure/unarmored hull on any ship afloat will be a smoking ruin after five minutes close to this one.

And the hull below the waterline may well be ventilated too.

Don't get too close is all I can say.

Eyup. It's a pretty close match for the one Greece built in 1931.

. This is just a second ship of the class, slightly slicked up for 1938.

And although AltNaval shied away from the intermediate calibers, I do have some other designs with 8" and British 9.2", but with a drop in belt and deck armour for both designs.

Greece disdained such cruisers in the past and I don't see why they'd change their tune now.

It is only because of the treaty that I have this ship. Given the choice I'd have 2 8000 ton ships instead.

and with the treaty no longer around, it seems more likely Greece would be going for the 8000 ton ships rather than this ~15,600 ton vessel... or am I reading it wrong?
In my eyes, the deck is just a waste and I would cut it down to 3 and add more speed and guns and shells... something like this I was messing around with, before i scolded myself for even thinking of quads...

Greece already has twenty light cruisers. Three Psara-class (8x6"), six Athinai-class (8x6" and slow), nine Eurybiades-class (8x5") and four small Leon-class flotilla leaders (6x5").

No 8,000-ton CL can compare to the Italian 16x6" cruisers. Greece already has a fleet larger than the surface fleet of the World War II Kriegsmarine, and they have maybe ten-fifteen million population to support it. Compared to the 1,009 men of a K-Cruiser, a Psara requires 617 crewmen; build two Psaras compared to one K-cruiser, you need 225 more men. Presuming the operating costs of an 8,000-ton cruiser are scalable, then two Psaras require more crew and roughly the same maintenance as a K-cruiser.

Overall as a concept they are a bit big for my tastes but certainly pack a punch and in a quick draw in the Med it might prove a clincher.
Study 4 looks better, could reduce range a lot though and maybe beef up the deck armour a bit.
The first design is pretty nifty, the 9.2in is a flop really and the 8in not great but good enough for decent CA.

8'' of belt armour is more than the Iron Dukes and the Admiral Hippers...is the plan with those ships to run in, using the armour to deflect heavier shells and then wreaking the enemies upperworks with the faster firing 6'' guns in twin turrets? IMHO, 8'' is too much. I think it could be cut to 6-7'', and the extra weight used on speed.(Like my opinion matters)
