Bulgarian Aircraft Manufacturers

DAR - Darjavna Aeroplane Rabotilnitsa (State Aircraft Factory)
DAR is the more active of Bulgaria's two aircraft manufacturers. The Bulgarian government holds a controlling 51% ownership in DAR but sold 49% ownership to Fokker/Avia in 1935. DAR generally manufactures between sixty and ninety aircraft every year for both the military and civilian market.

DAR 3 Garvan-III
- Produced: 1937-Present
- Total built: 78 for VNVV, some others for civilians.
- Notes: Military biplane for spotting/army cooperation, harassment bombing, and primary training.

DAR 7 SS.1 Koketka
- Produced: 1937-Present
- Total built: 48 for VNVV, others for civilians.
- Notes: Single-seat low-winged sport plane designed for civilian use. 48 purchased by VNVV as solo trainers.

DAR 11 Ljastuvka (Avia B-135)
- Produced: 1935-1937
- Total built: 48 + 24 (to Hungary)
- Notes: the DAR 11 is a license-built version of the Fokker/Avia B-135.

DAR 12 Malniya (Avia B-137)
- Produced: 1938-Present
- Total built: 24+12 (ordered)
- Notes: this plane is a license-built version of the Fokker/Avia B-137 fighter.

DAR 14(Sz) Dogan (EKW C-3603)
- Produced: 1939-Present
- Total built: 48 ordered for 1939.
- Notes: this plane is assembled by DAR from kits built by the Swiss EKW company.

KB - Kaproni-Balgarski (Caproni Bulgaria)
Kaproni-Balgarski currently only manufactures planes for the civilian market at this time. The Kaproni Bulgarski KB-5 Tchutchuliga-III serves in the Bulgarian Air Force as a biplane training aircraft, with 78 manufactured starting in 1937.
