Alianza Empresa
Alianza Empresa (Alliance Enterprises) is a consortium of publicly-traded companies in Chile.
  • Constelación Aviation - Formerly Valdivia Aviation. Manufactures civilian aircraft and military utility aircraft such as the Twin Condor and Royal Condor lines of aircraft. Constelación's primary interest is in STOL, the Condor line all emphasizing short and rough-field operation.
  • Constelación Planeador - Manufacturer of sport and military gliders.
  • Fanaero Chile - Founded 1938 as a manufacturing offshoot of Roth and Valdivia Aviation. Fanaero's facilities are adjoining to Valdivia's own factory.
  • Austral Obras Mecánica (Austral Mechanical Works) - Heavy machinery manufacturer. Austral builds turbines for the Navy and is a prime supplier for ASMAR. Austral owns a 30% interest in Roth-Packard, and Roth-Packard owns a 30% interest in Austral. Austral is the authorized South American distributor for Burmeister and Wain (B+W) marine diesels.
  • Madeco - Manufacturing company dedicated to building products from copper and aluminum (note: this is a real company, albeit founded 1944).
  • CORFO (aka Production Development Corporation) - Company promoting investment and development. CORFO is responsible for much of the money needed to form Alianza; it is also working to develop the metallurgy, electric, and transportation industries. (Real company founded 1939.)
  • Compañia General de Eletrecidad - an electric generation company. CGE is developing hydro power in Chile, and Madeco is working with them due to their intent to make aluminum. (Real company founded 1905.)
  • Hillyer-Van Rijn - Supplier of industrial pumps, gauges and dials, etc; including naval salvage pumps. (The Chilean cruiser Nevado Ojos del Salado had a Hillyer-Van Rijn emergency pump designed by the ship's captain, who was a member of the Van Rijn family. This pump will be standard on all future Chilean warships.)
  • Banco de Crédito e Inversiones - Banking firm (historical - founded 1937) to promote small business development in Chile. Third-largest bank in Chile.
  • Masisa - Wood products company. Masisa develops wood products and wood byproducts.
  • Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM) - Supplier of chemical and mineralogical products.
  • Asenav - Shipbuilder (primarily civilian - all major military shipbuilding assets are currently going to ASMAR).

Austral Obras Marítimas - constructs steam turbines for the Chilean Navy, and manufactures maritime diesels under the B&W brand name and license.

National Defense Suppliers

ENAER - Empresa Nacional de Aeronáutica de Chile
ENAER (National Aeronautical Enterprise of Chile), like ASMAR, is a government-funded company which started as the Central Aviation Workshops, charged with maintaining the Chilean Air Force's aircraft. In 1936 the group was reformed to start it's own manufacturing division, forming a strategic partnership with FMA (Fabrica Militar de Aviones) of Argentina, as well as Spartan and Accrisius. ENAER built a new and modern factory in Puerto Montt to license-build FMA Buchon fighters for the FACh, and has a second, older facility in Santiago.

- Zafiro basic/intermediate trainer and sport plane
- F5E jet fighter (licensed Focke-Wulf Fw340)

ASMAR - Astilleros y Maestranzas de la Armada
The Astilleros y Maestranzas de la Armada (translated "Shipyard and Arsenal of the Navy), or ASMAR, is charged with overseeing all Chilean naval construction, from keel-laying to final delivery. ASMAR also maintains its own engineering team, separate from the Naval Engineering and Construction Bureau; in this role ASMAR offers a number of civilian (non-military) vessels such as trawlers, freighters, tankers, and all manner of other vessels. ASMAR is also responsible for manufacturing torpedoes.

ASMAR operates three main facilities:
- Astillero de Talcahuano
- Astillero de Magallanes
- Astillero de Valparaíso

FAMAE - Fábricas y Maestranzas del Ejército
FAMAE is the Chilean military small-arms producer, also holding the necessary licenses to manufacture artillery and small-arms ammunition. FAMAE is capable of producing lighter artillery in small qualities, along with bombs and demolition explosives.

Sisdef - Sistemas Defensas
Sisdef was originally a division of ASMAR and the University of Valparaiso, created to manufacture Atlantean-built dradis (radar) systems and research improvements. In the late 1930s it became independent. While it still largely manufactures Atlantean electronics equipment under license, it has also designed its own gear, which it exports:
- Type 104 "Cactus" and Type 104.1 "Cactus/5" sentry dradis
- Type 300 and Type 300.2g "Pehuén" main battery fire-control dradis
- Type 500 "Nahuelbuta" anti-aircraft fire-control dradis

Steel Mills
  • Edyce Ingenieria S.A. - Steel mill. Edyce processes 2,500 tons of steel per month. Located in Santiago.
  • Compania de Acero Del Pacifico (CAP Group) - Based in Huachipato, a suburb of Concepcion, Chile's second-larged conurbation. (OTL founded in 1950; produced 550,000 tons by 1965.) It is located on the Bay of San Vincente.
  • CINTAC S.A. - Produces steel and metal buildings and architectural sections.
  • Bethlehem-Chile Iron Mines Company - This American-owned subsidiary of Bethlehem Steel controls large iron ore deposits in the province of Coquimbo. The ore is of the highest quality ever used for the manufacture of pig iron, running about sixty-eight per cent iron, and free from deleterious impurities. A fleet of specially designed ore-carrier ships was built by ASMAR to carry the iron ore to the US. Began operations in 1914.

Power Companies
  • Chivilingo Hydroelectric Plant - Founded 1893 and came online in 1897. Chivilingo was Chile's first hydro power plant and the second in South America, providing power to the undersea coal mine at Lota.
  • Ralco Hydroelectric Plant - Started 1940. Will generate 690KW of electricity upon completion in 1946.
  • El Toro Hydroelectric Plant - A hydroelectric power station in Bío-Bío Region, Chile. The plant uses water from Laja River and produces 400MW of electricity.
  • Antuco Hydroelectric Plant - A hydroelectric power station in Biobío Region, Chile. The plant uses water from Laja River and produces 300MW of electricity.
  • Enersis - Power company operating in South America. Founded 1921.

Automakers
  • Terrestre - Terrestre is a joint partnership of FAMAE, Atlantean automaker Pierce-Arrow, and Swiss automaker Saurer. Each of the three main stakeholders own 30% of the company. The remaining 10% of the stock is privately-traded.
  • The Pressed Steel Company - The Pressed Steel Company, part of the British Neuffield Group, manufactures commercial automobiles at a Santiago location.
  • Sociedad Industrial de San Fernando / SISF - SISF manufactures a portfolio of products, including construction equipment such as road rollers. In 1946, the company began assembling Unimogs for the South American market under agreement with Mercedes-Benz.

Shipyards
  • ASMAR - ASMAR is the government-owned but privately managed "Shipyard and Arsenal of the Navy". It owns facilities in Talcahuano, Valparaiso, and Punta Arenas.
  • ASENAV - A privately-owned shipyard in Valdivia.
  • Astilleros ARICA SA - Small shipyard in Arica.
  • Marco Chilena Ast Ltda - Small shipyard in Iquique.

Aviation
  • ENAER - ENAER ("Empresa Nacional de Aeronáutica de Chile") is the government-owned but privately managed state aircraft manufacturer. It's main plant is located in Santiago, and a second facility, completed in 1937, is located in Puerto Montt.
  • Constelación Aircraft - A manufacturer of civilian passenger and military utility aircraft.
  • Constelación Planeador - A manufacturer of civilian sport and military cargo gliders.
  • Fanaero Chile - Subsidiary of Constelación, Roth, and Dorand. Manufactures helicopters and the OU1F-2 Alpaca military observation aircraft/sport plane.

Weaponry
  • FAMAE - Fábricas y Maestranzas del Ejército - Produces small arms, artillery shells and tubes, mortars, and military vehicles.
  • Pacific Ordnance Works - Manufactures naval artillery shells, turrets, and barrels. After 1942, an independent division of FAMAE.

Mining
  • Antofagasta PLC - A mining company in Antofagasta, operating the mines of Pelambres, Tesoro and Michilla, and the meter-gauge railway in northern Chile.
  • Molymet - A copper mining company.
  • Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM) - Supplier of chemical and mineralogical products. A partner in Alianza Empresa.
  • Minera Escondida - A mining company which operates the world's two largest copper mines.
    • Madre de Dios - Gold mine, recovered 2.6 tons of gold between 1898 and 1936.
    • El Toqui Mine - Gold and zinc mine.
    • Pascua Lama Mine - Gold mine 3/4ths in Chile and 1/4th in Argentina; 4,500 meters altitude. (Not developed until modern times.)
    • Compañía Nitratera Anglo Lautaro S.A. - Chilean nitrate-mining company.
    • El Chiflón del Diablo Coal Mine - Coal mine near Lota, Chile.
    • Patiño Mines - Tin mines in Chilean-occupied Bolivia, owned by Don Simón Iturri Patiño, a Bolivian. Patiño additionally holds tin mines in Chile proper.
    • Aluchile S.A. - Aluminium smelter located in Concepción, refining bauxite from Brazilian and Canadian sources.

Other
  • Sociedad Industrial de Aysén - The Industrial Society of Aisen, developing industry in the southern regions of the country. SIDA built the highway connecting Coihaique and Puerto Aisen. Founded 1904.
  • El Mercurio - Conservative newspaper in Santiago, founded 1827.
  • VTR Banda Ancha (Chile) S.A. - Telephone provider founded 1928.
  • Concha y Toro - The largest wine producer in Latin America; an industry leader. Founded 1883 in Santiago.
  • Compañía de Cervecerías Unidas - CCU is Chile's largest brewer, the second brewer in Argentina, the third largest soft drink producer in Chile, the second largest wine producer, the largest bottler of mineral water and nectar in Chile, and one of the largest pisco producers. It also participates in the candy business.
  • Anwandter - Beer brewer, founded by German immigrants. Located in Valdivia.
  • CMPC - Pulp and forestry products producer, founded 1920. Operations expanding extensively.
  • Empresas Copec - Gas station chain, founded 1934. Has branched out to sell tires and auto parts.
  • Andina S.A. - South American bottler of Coca-Cola.
  • Banco de Concepción - Chilean investment bank, founded 1871.
  • S.A.C.I. Falabella - Chilean food market retailer, founded 1889.
  • La Polar - Chilean clothing retailer, founded 1920.
  • SalfaCorp - A construction and real estate developer, founded 1929.

  • Hacienda Los Lingues - Oldest continuously-operated privately-owned company in the New World, originally granted by royal decree of King Philip II of Spain to Don Melchor Jufré del Aguila in 1575. Engaged in the wine and hotel business. Also operates one of the oldest fine horse-stables in the world, Aculeo Stable, with a bloodline documented to 711 A.D.
  • Burmah Chile S.A. - Develops, produces and distributes lubricants and metalworking fluids for industrial applications. Located in Huchuraba.
  • Ferrostaal Chile SAC - Founded in 1920 with headquarters in The Hague as a commercial trading company for steel products, Ferrostaal has offices opened in the 1930s in Valparaiso, Lima, and other South American countries.
  • Compania Manufacturera de Papeles y Cartones S.A. - A paper and cellulose dealer, Empresas CMPC holds large tracts of forest and tree plantations.
  • Empresa de Soldadura Bellavista - Manufacturer of welded steel structural tubing, founded in 1941.
  • Bayner Fabricación S.A. - Produces agriculture equipment such as balers and walk-behind tractors. An associate of the German firm of Siemens.
  • Empresa Para la Producción de Tubos Polivinílico (EPPTP) - The Empresa Para la Producción de Tubos Polivinílico, founded in January 1943 in the Santiago region, manufactures one-half of the polyvinyl chloride piping made in South America. It is building a second factory in the new Brazilian city of Brasilia in order to further increase its market share.
  • Empresa ZW - Empresa ZW, founded in 1942, manufactures dyno torches and hand-cranked radios.
  • Compañía para la Producción y Exportación de Algas (PREXAL) - Seafood-algae producer. Owned by Elías Cárdenas.

Tranportation Companies

Ship Lines
- Naviera Magallanes S.A. (Navimag) - Ferry company operating two ships, the Evangelista and Puerto Eden. There are two regular routes, the first running from Puerto Montt to Puerto Chacabuco, and Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales via Puerto Eden.
- Transmarchilay - Ferry service between Puerto Montt to Chaitén and Quellón, and between Puerto Montt to Ancud and Castro. Four ferries (Ancud, Castro, Pincoya, and Chaitén) are operated.
- Compañía Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV) - CSAV is Chile's main freight and passenger steamship line.
- Chileno Sudamerica Line (CSL) - CSL is the second-ranked steamship line in Chile, and is privately owned.
- Cruz del Sur - A ferry line known for their brightly-painted yellow ferry, the Don Juan.
- Petroleum Navigation Company (SONAP) - Oil-shipping company, founded 1933.
- Compañía Chilena de Navegación Interoceánica S.A. - CCNI is a rapidly-growing steamship line.

Airlines
- LAN Airlines - LAN Airlines is Chile's flag carrier and one of the fastest-growing airlines in South America, with international connections to Cordoba (Argentina), Lima (Peru), Guayaquil (Iberian Ecuador), Bogota (Colombia), and Colon (Iberian Panama). LAN Chile is part-owner (along with Air France) of the Brazilian airline Serviços Aéreos Cruzeiro do Sul.
