Fighter Cannon

Bulgaria inquires what guns of 12.7mm or larger are currently available for purchase. Bulgaria intends to order another 36 Spitfires for 1938; the VNVV currently uses 20mm Oerlikon FFs, 15mm MG151s, and 7.92mm MG17s; are these guns eclipsed?

Germany is still using the MG-151 and the MG-17, though fighters ordered in 1938 or later will have the MG-17s replaced by MG-111s and the MG-151s MAY be replaced by MG-201s (that change won't happen until 1939 for all aircraft).

FN makes a 0.5" and 13.2mm FN-Browning, and FN-Madsens in 20 and 23mm

Italy has;

13.2mm Scotti
13.2mm Breda-Safat (in small numbers)

20mm Oerlikon FFL (low rate of fire, drum feed, but fairly light)

Currently introducing the 20mm Isotta-Fraschini Scotti. It's big and heavy but fires powerful ammunition and is belt fed. 20x138, 600rpm, ~65kg

I don't see the need for Bulgaria to introduce any new weapons currently. The 20mm FF is sufficient against pretty much everything.

Russia has:

the 7.62mm ShKAS, the 12.7mm ShVAK, as well as the 20mm ShVAK developed from the 12.7mm.

There's also the 14mm hmg.

You're right, nothing earth-shaking here either.

Britain has... err... 7.7mm Browning or Vickers ;(

Plus 20mm Oerlikon FF type cannon (not sure what mark but lets say its based on the FF with drum feed and built under licence, call it FFB or something?)

I'm sure Vickers could make a 12.7mm MG or even a 0.661in HMG for aircraft use if anyone wanted it.

Nothing earth-shaking but the rip of eight 7.7mm sounds good anyway...
