*Funny, this post was after TheCanadians post and yet shows up before?!!!*

As I mentioned, it has something to do with the clock of the board which is screwed up so since it is now just before 10:00 CET and Canadian's post was a lot later than that, my post will also appear before his. :)

... and for those of us who just "love" the speed cameras...

They installed radar cameras here for a year or two, then took them out after it was pointed out in court that the person being penalized by them was the cars owner, not the current driver of the car, which is not what the statutes require.

Yes, so it is pretty much useless unless you got a photo of the person driving it as well.

... and useless for other reasons... :)

No doubt a camera built by Wesworld Canada. :D

Ontario used to have photo radar as well in the early 90's. However it worked a little too well, so many people were getting caught doing over the posted speed limit that it backed the courts up 10 years. And if you dont see a judge after 5 years in Ont, the case is thrown out of court. So they took the cameras down and sold them to Alberta.

I think the simpler and more reasonable explanation is quite simple; WW Canadian SuperScience is dabbling in the manipulation of Space/Time again.

As for those LOVELY speed cameras, I've only been caught by one; the one in the tunnel under the US Capitol building.

That's right folks, I operate my vehicle at unsafe velocities in only the classiest of places.

I seem to remember Top Gear mentioning a few weeks ago of a bloke being caught doing 210mph in a Bugatti in California. He got the maximum fine of $500. You'd be going to prison for a couple of years in the UK.

I don't mind speed cameras too much. It isn't safe to drive fast through towns. In the country, where I do want to drive fast, there aren't (m)any speed cameras. You tend to notice road quality a lot more as well at 100mph+, hitting a pothole isn't good.

Actually faster than that...

Clarkson "Bugatti two door... I'm guessing a Veyron..."

Clarkson: "Recorded speed... 210+"

... and it supposed to be $750 next time. :)

To clarify, the tunnel under the capitol that I got a camera ticket from....is part of Interstate 395.

Yes, I had a lot of fun. Dropped in on some friends from college and had their seven-month old chew on my knees; went to the wedding of two friends I sorta-introduced to each other (at the very least, facilitated their first meeting), and then met a cute girl for church and dinner.

Only nasty bits were my camera (or the batteries) singing their demise, and a nasty bit with a neckache that meant I drove a sixteen-hour drive in fourteen hours on less than four hours of sleep. (I don't actually remember driving through most of Indianapolis, aside from seeing the arena.
