Philippine Requirements...

As I recall, there were Heinkel factories being set up in the Philippines. Therefore, since the Filipino air force entries haven't been updated in a coon's age, I'm presuming that the AF has been neglected, but currently operates a few modern types: to wit, the He-112 and A-21 for the AF, and the He-112T, He-115 and something by Martin (:p) for the Navy.

However that leaves a lot of gaps to be filled, and the new Presidente wants them filled ASAP.

To wit, three specifications have been issued as top priorities.

First is a requirement for a Long Range Fighter/Escort. Requirements are:
- Twin engined
- Minimum range 1,500km
- Armament minimum 2 x 20mm and 4 x 12.7mm or equivilant
- Capable of carrying 2 x 100kg bombs minimum.

Second is a requirement for a Long Range Bomber/Patrol Aircraft.. Requirements are:
- Two, three, or four-engined
- Minimum range 2,500km
- Minimum bomload 4 x 500kg bombs over 2,000km

Third is a requirement for...well, frankly, a complete package of carrier aircraft:
- Fighter
- Dive Bomber
- Torpedo Bomber
- Scout

As far as the long range fighter goes, Germany can offer the Fw-187, in service in a number of countries already with a variety of armaments and engines. Easily meets the range requirement, having a range of 1200nm, and the armement requirement, standard armament being 4 15mm and 2 7.92mm MGs. If the Phillipines is interested in a flying boat for its long-range patrol aircraft, Dornier can offer the Do-27. For a landplane, there's the Ju-88.

The US is finishing up development on the P-38, but that aircraft would not meet the Phillipines armament requirements anyway, so the US has no submission for the long-range fighter. Consolidated can enter it's PBY for the patrol aircraft, and the to be available soon B-26 and B-25 would also fit the slot.

For the long range fighter / escort category the famous DeBroek FD-2 "Hornet"qualifies - there are several MKs available. See the SAE airforce thread for more details.

Regarding that long range recce/bomber plane only the B-14 heavy bomber qualifies (because I have not updated my encyclopedia since 1935 :o( ). But that plane might not be what you are looking for as you also need quite some infrastructure to operate her so the AeroDynamics RBW-14A "Osprey" is offered. She is a smaller bird but is perfectly suited for an environment with thousands of islands and lots of water in between. The version in my encyclopedia is an older one. You can expect an improved version to be in service/available 1937 with more power, range and loads.

*Gives Hrolf the evil eye*

If the Phillipines orders the Fw-187M+, TNCA will throw in a few Fw-187R (recoinassance) in for free...

Also the CAC-11 Strix was a joint project with Heinkel and uses a Heinkel wing.

Do the Phillipines also need any ground-attack aircraft or land based torpedo bombers?

The RBW-12C is also available, sure. Having her first flight in ´32 you can expect all bugs worked out. They are also combat tested. In fact, I´d say there surely is a D or later version available too, probably with more powerful engines (*) and slightly improved stats. However, this plane focuses on economy and endurance, so don´t expect a much higher top speed.

(*) The Rayton Pegasus VII radial engine of 880hp or the LMF 750 VI inline engine of 860hp as in the projected for DeBroek F-3D could be used.
