Persia and Skoda has initiated a project to put a longrange gun suitable both for army and coastal defence work, the gun will be known as the 155mm M/17 in Persia.

Interesting to compare this gun to the historical 155mm "Long Tom". The Long Tom has a shorter barrel and lower muzzle velocity, but a higher max elevation. (In fairness the Long Tom's range is also shorter.)

Looks like a decent heavy field gun.

Split trail?

I feel sorry for all these SATSUMA tourists and photographers. At least in this case the chap should get good purified water during his stay.

I think its a boxtrail and taking pics of military secrets seems to be a health hazard in SATSUMA

Hm, I'd go for a split-trail. That way you can get more traverse out of the gun. AFAICT, box-trail is pretty much not used on new designs in the 1930s.

In WW it can be a split trail that could also make a bigger elevation possible on future models
