That's a surprising move, the one Brock-nation I hadn't mentioned. I had assumed Chile had enough destroyers and wouldn't have wanted an odd calibre or older hulls. I was obviously wrong and this deal is probably part of the US packages in the region.

Guns shall be refitted to my standards, and I'll b able to use these eight ships to replace and then scrap an octet of vessels ten years older that only have 3x110mm guns and no radar. It allows me to modernize a destroyer squadron more cheaply than I otherwise would be able to do.

I do seem to have the tendancy to purchase old Atlantean ships back from nations when they dispose of them don't I?

In 1945, Italy will be disposing of the 16 Soldati Class Destroyers . (Ency says 17 because the Bersagliere was still in one piece at the time I made the post). I'm willing to entertain offers on them but will not sell to any party engaged in fighting until the cessation of hostilities.
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.
