I have to admit, I never expected the Alswinn to be hyped the way she is. Probably I overlooked her potential and should have kept her. Looks like there is a market for more of her kind.

So for those interested, the SAE welcomes any request to build customized Alswinn variants for all that can pay for it. To not block important slip space, the offer includes building the vessel in the SAE - might be important for smaller nations with less slips.

Good timing, as I was planning to construct some for testing. Now I have a full squadron I can test, instead of one to two boats. :P

Displacement:
1,020 t light; 1,046 t standard; 1,210 t normal; 1,341 t full load

Dimensions: Length overall / water x beam x draught
275.00 ft / 275.00 ft x 23.50 ft x 14.00 ft (normal load)
83.82 m / 83.82 m x 7.16 m x 4.27 m

Armament:
1 - 4.00" / 102 mm guns in single mounts, 32.00lbs / 14.51kg shells, 1915 Model
Breech loading gun in deck mount
on centreline forward
Weight of broadside 32 lbs / 15 kg
Shells per gun, main battery: 150
6 - 18.0" / 457.2 mm submerged torpedo tubes

Machinery:
Diesel Internal combustion generators plus batteries,
Electric motors, 2 shafts, 3,847 shp / 2,870 Kw = 19.00 kts
Range 5,000nm at 12.50 kts
Bunker at max displacement = 294 tons

Complement:
102 - 133

Cost:
£0.086 million / $0.346 million

Distribution of weights at normal displacement:
Armament: 4 tons, 0.3 %
Machinery: 146 tons, 12.0 %
Hull, fittings & equipment: 670 tons, 55.4 %
Fuel, ammunition & stores: 190 tons, 15.7 %
Miscellaneous weights: 200 tons, 16.5 %

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
718 lbs / 326 Kg = 22.4 x 4.0 " / 102 mm shells or 0.5 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.17
Metacentric height 0.8 ft / 0.2 m
Roll period: 11.3 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 0 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.00
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 0.00

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has a flush deck
Block coefficient: 0.468
Length to Beam Ratio: 11.70 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 16.58 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 44 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 0.00 degrees
Stern overhang: 0.00 ft / 0.00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 0.00 ft / 0.00 m

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 91.1 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 0.0 %
Waterplane Area: 4,185 Square feet or 389 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 231 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 109 lbs/sq ft or 533 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):
- Cross-sectional: 3.45
- Longitudinal: 1.22
- Overall: 1.58
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is adequate
Room for accommodation and workspaces is extremely poor
