Marinkuriren q1/1937

Wow, it is a long time since I published any news! Brain is still fried so this is really just a summary.

Jan 1937

Having completed a full review of the nations land forces, the Government has announced that the army is to be expanded. First expectations are that the army will gain a second and third armoured division, and that the airborne forces will also be expanded.

The Army has ordered the latest new design of tank, the NT12, which has now been Christened the Leopard into production, with the first deliveries expected later in the year. Husquarna are said to be looking at the posibility of a range of Self Propelled guns based on the Leopard's Hull.

The Navy's latest Battleship, the BB33 Class Oscar II has been completed, and is starting trials ready to join the fleet in the Summer.

Feb 1937

Following setbacks, the Saab F-21 twin boom fighter has been passed for limited production. The F-21 prototype shot to the publics attention after its hijacking by Manzo during the Coronation celebrations in Coldmere last August.

Herre Berg has announced that the King has expressed a wish for the Navy to continue its slow expansion, while also making moves to both consolidate its strength, and improve its co-operation with our European Allies.

April 1937

The Government has concluded a number of agreements with the German Government in relation to the purchase of equipment to facilitate the Armies expansion.
The purchase of some 200 Panzer II Aust E(N) light tanks has been agreed along with the acquisition of 8 Stug III self propelled guns. In addition to this, the Government has gained agreements to allow the production in Nordmark of both the Panzer II Aust E(N) which will be known as the NT15 Type A , and of the Panzer III/Stug III hull, to form the basis of the NT14 Type A Medium Tank.
Rumours suggest that some Heavy artillery has been ordered from German Manufacturers

May 1937

The Airforce has announced that the new Light Fighter aircraft prototype, the Valmet Puuska has flown for the first time. While carrying limited armament this fighter is fast, and is expected to enter production once prototype trials are finished late in 1937.
Also the FFVS have announced that their JS-22 type prototypes first flight will be delayed while engine fitting issues are resolved.
