Bulgarian Warship Classification System

Classifications, presented here in English, are marked on hulls in Cyrillic.

The proper Bulgarian naval vessel prefix is BVK, short for "Bulgarski Voenen Korab" or "Bulgarian Warship."

Samoletonosach - An aircraft carrier. Hull classification is S-#.
Lineen Korab - A battleship; also applied to battlecruisers. Hull classification is LK-#.
Broniran Krajtser[/I] - An armoured or heavy cruiser. Hull classification is K-#.
Krajtser - A cruiser (refers to light cruisers). Hull classification is K-#.
Kontra-Razrushitel - A contradestroyer, or heavy destroyer. Hull classification is KR-#.
Razrushitel - A destroyer. Hull classification is R-#.
Torpedna lodka - A torpedo boat. Hull classification is TL-#.
Motor torpedna lodka - A torpedo boat of under 200 tons. Hull classification is MTL-#.
