With FMA and IMPA at full stretch to fulfill war orders there are few new developments.

Here is one exception. A carrier-based scout/ dive-bomber.

At the same time the Commando Aviacion Naval Argentina has a requirement for carrier-based single-engined fighters and torpedo bombers. There are no specifications because the Technical Staff wish to review all types with the aim of selecting the best. Deliveries must begin by April 1936.

As usual, Argentina has access to Spartan and Accrisius designs via its afiliations fith FMA and IMPA.

(You've also helped design them too!)

In addition ANAF can offer its own design.

Looks quite good, nice and light for the carriers. Numbers might be a bit on the small side to warrant a production run, so possibly a role as land based dive bombers as well?

Italy has the Reggiane Falco and Breda Ba.67 as carrier-based fighters and torpedo bombers respectively, though you could just buy the Falco as it is fitted for torpedo carriage.

While neither a Torpedo Bomber or a Fighter, the A-1 Mapache has enough weight reserves to be modified to fit both roles. The plane is already in use with the FAA, and the next batch (on its way) is already carrier capable.

Meanwhile CAC offers the CAC-9 Skua for the Fighter role. The plane has been accepted by the RANAS.

Argh an opportunity to shill for Fokker, and I can't !!!!
Something about conducting an aggressive war against SAE...

Hrolf, any stats for those two designs? If its secret PM me...

Kaiser, you may feel bad but FMA has been unable to enter any other contests around the world due to the war and therefore have lost more exports than Fokker.

FMA is a late entry, scared of losing any position within domestic production to IMPA Luis Carron has re-designed his new I-01 as a carrier-based fighter with new wings and a beefier fuselage.

Rough stats are 322mph, 730 miles, 4x13mm 1x250lb bomb.

The He-112T is the same plane that Heinkel submitted to the Iberian competition, so it's essentially equivalent to the historical He-112 with a Jumo-211B, resulting in a faster but somewhat heavier aircraft. The additional weight of arresting gear, wing-folding equipment, and airframe reinforcing also drive up the dry weight, resulting in a lower range than the landplane version.

The Ju-87C is as historical:
Origin: Junkers Flugzeug und Motorenwerke AG
Type: carrier-borne attack aircraft
Engine: 1,200hp Jumo 211D
Armament: three MG 17s, 500-700kg of bombs
Speed: 332km/h at 4,000m
Climb: 330m/minute
Ceiling: service ceiling 7,000m
Range: on internal fuel 510-580km
Weight: empty 2,760kg, loaded 5,840kg
Wingspan: (full) 13.2m, (folded) 5m
Length: 11m
Crew: two

The winners are;

Carrier-based fighters: Japan with 50 *Censored* fighters and further orders to follow for around 65 *Censored* fighters.

Carrier-based dive bombers: Tucan T-18 NB-1

Carrier-based torpedo bombers: Licence for the Spartan TBN-7.

It was hard to choose fighters with so many good types equalling shore-based fighters in performance.

Hmmm *censored* means *A6M* or *Space Battleship Yamato*...

15

Saturday, April 5th 2008, 7:29pm

Well, it could easily be a naval version of the Ki-34 and the later ones of the Ki-37... or not...
... of course that would most likely result in an "A6" designation (A6K) for the plane.
Can't tell you what it is but it is definitely not a Zero.

Space Battleship Yamato would either be designated as a battleship or with an 'M' (for Special Purpose Aircraft). Definitely not with an 'A' thus not a fighter.

To the Dutch Hawks, Japanese fighters going to Argentina is a troubling trend with one positive- it may annoy Bharat and SAE, but likely it will just go over like the various Italian sales.
