Action near the town of Lida

September 1st.

Today, fighting broke out between brigands who appear to be members of the former Letowska Guards, and the men of the 101st Tank Company. The report given by the commanding officer of the Polish Motorized Brigade, who have been patroling the border between Lithuania and Poland in an effort to catch these bandits is as follows:

The tankettes of the 101st Tank Company had been patrolling the road between the town of Lida and the Lithuanian border. After turning around at the border, and seeing nothing, the Company turned around and headed back in the direction of Lida. About halfway along the road, the lead tankette saw a column of men in the distance. No Polish flag was present, and the men were ill-dressed, and not wearing the uniforms of any of the nations participating in the LoN Task Force. The commanding officer, in the lead tankette, Lieutenant Lwazorski ordered the column to close upon the enemy.

Once the column was within 100 yds of the group of men, the bandit column opened revealing a 75mm field piece the bandits had been dragging along. The bandits fired, and knocked out the lead tank, killing Lieutenant Lwazorski. Seeing the lead tank knocked out, the 12 remaining tankettes immediately opened fire upon the group of bandits, aiming specifically at the crew manning the artillery piece. 10 men fell from the fusilade of fire the now furious Poles (1) were unleashing and the remaining bandits seeing their comrades falling and seeing the odds against them, surrendered. 53 of the bandits were captured and brought into custody.

Curiosly enough, though there were some ex-Poles in the group of bandits, the majority were ex-Russian Imperial Army soldiers. The men have been placed in confinement in a compound in the army barracks in Lida, awaiting either transport to Lithuania, or if the LoN doesn't want them, trial and execution for the Poles and deportion to Russia for the Russians.

OOC: First time ive written a combat report, hopes its not too bad.

Its difficult to write a combat report..... without any combat :P Hmm I was thinking about having a revolt in Transylvania, but there isn't anyone to really sponser and equip such a revolt. Does Poland still hold some of the Ukrainian lands? Maybe I could have a revolt there, so I can practise writing combat reports.

Considering I have no background in the military am not really into the first person shooter games where some of the situations come up (I prefer to be the general, HOI anyone?) It's not too bad.

It does

Not as much as historical, but enough that you could probably get some friction between the Ukrainians and the government.

However, Poland has some obligations under the Minorities Treaty that would cause international complications if you got too rough with them.

Frances four CDBB are slow, heavily armed for their size, and well armoured. The very definition of a coast defence battleship.

Frances newest and most powerful heavy cruiser is one of the best heavy cruisers in the world, extremely well armed and armoured, as well as being fast.

Ships under Construction

Frances other new Battlecruisers are also fast, and well armed, and are better armoured than the Dunkerque class.

St. Cyr
12 4.7in, 64 40mm, 34 knots, 3.5in belt, 3.5in deck, 34,051 normal tons, 75 aircraft.
Frances newest aircraft carrier, is much bigger than the previous ones, which are around half the size of St. Cyr. St. Cyr does continue the French tradition of having fast carriers with large to average sized aircraft complements.

Comments of the Marine Nationale: Frances navy has come a very long way since WWI. It now ranks among the largest in the world, with fast, modern, and well armed squadrons. With the exception of its Battleships, the units of the French Fleet can make at least 30 knots, and all of the new units can do 34. The French Fleet, in any future conflict with the SATSUMA alliance or with any other alliance will be a fast, hard-hitting fleet, able to deliver blows, and escape before opposing forces can counter.

Just wait 'till he looks at the Russian fleet, he-he-he...

And there are five of the Petain class, not four:

Petain, at Tunis
Weygand, at Beruit
Joffre, at Tangiers
Serrail, at Djibuti
Foch, at Saigon

And don't be too paranoid, KK. In the Far East, both the French and Russian fleets are your friends!
