raise freeboard forward.

The higher the speed, the higher the freeboard you need for decent seakeeping.

And you've got plenty of hull strength to use on increased freeboard.

Some deck armor and a belt that covers the magazines and engines would be nice too.

Thanks for the tips, next question undergunned?

Armament seems ok, though given her limited size you may want to group the 4.1" guns in twin mounts to cut down on the crowding.

That's just because the composite hull strength is 1.02. If you got it down to 1.00 by using miscellaneous weight, it wouldn't complain.

I can't see any deck armour at the moment.

They seem to be good ships, but sacrifice a lot of armour for their high speed. It just depends whether or you think the trade-off is worth it.

9

Sunday, January 20th 2008, 3:14pm

There is no deck armor, is it worth to put deck armor on non capital ships?

10

Sunday, January 20th 2008, 3:35pm

Generally, yes, a cruiser may well receive a deck hit just like a capital ship. They generally have thinner deck armor than capital ships, just as they have thinner belt armor, but their armor is sized for the expected threat.

A nice design with little to complain about. Most interesting attribute probably is her high BC - given size and speed.

well done!

just a tiny detail now, and that's the trade off between gunnery steadiness and stability. I'd adjust the trim enough to put the steadiness at 70%, enough to the the "stable gun platform" rating, and then leave it. That way she'll be more able to absorb damage than she is now, while still being a good gunnery platform.

16

Sunday, January 20th 2008, 9:20pm

Steadiness is at 70%.

For the most part, we all make/edit our own.

If you're looking to comission someone to do one for you, I'd reccomend talking to Seawolf over at Warship Projects;

Check the "Own Designs" section.
