Twin 20mm cannon? Probably better served, for the purposes listed, with a 20mm and a standard rifle-caliber MG, for those targets that can be dealt with by the smaller weapon or for whom the cannon is not a Hague-appropriate weapon.

Final armament will of course be left to the customer, should they wish 1x20mm and 1x12,7/~8mm or other combinations
that is their choice. We later hope to introduce a new 37mm cannon turret

That would probably be a good choice. If the idea is that the turret can be fitted with up to 2 20mm cannon, that might be a better way to advertise it. If that is the case, then replacing 1 20mm with a 37m and the other with an MG should be easy enough.

Perhaps something for the German armed forces?

6

Saturday, January 12th 2008, 2:19pm

At this time, the Heer is already buying Panzer IIs, which fill the same role as the 20mm armed tank, along with the new Panzer III (armed with a 50m gun) and the new Panzer IV (armed with a 75mm howitzer). It seems unlikely that the Heer will change in the next few years.

It seems a bit tall, might have stability problems. It might be an idea to lengthen the wheelbase so the driving sprocket has more room to turn. Whats the suspension system? Vertical springs?

8

The height is to achieve high elevation for use in mountinous terrain.

The suspension is leaf-spring double-bogie mounted on two axles.

Chile is looking for armor and aircraft that can fuction in high altitude conditions (Andeas Mountains and high plains regions)...as well and is hot and humid conditions (Southern Bolivia/Gran Chaco)

We have both the will and ability to provide you with what you need. Could you please inform us on what armament you would prefer for the Veles and please visit our aircraft exhibition for aircraft. GW is also prepared to offer license deals should those be preferred

Presently Chile is using Atlantean 37mm cannons and their 75mm short barreled cannons in a few tanks. While these are good designs, they are not up to work in hot, humid, high altitute climates. 37mm cannon would be idea for a tank and the .50 caliber machine gun for lighter armor. A 47mm or 57mm might be asked for to evaluate at a later date, if the 37mm standard version fuctions in the required conditions.

Overall, I've liked your images, but the tanks just looks far to short. Or the turret is far to large. Probably the latter as a smaller turret would make the rest look larger in comparison.
Take this one-
Imagine a man sitting in the front- not much room, two standing in the turret basket. An engine in the rear- all very cramped, and thats before fuel, ammo, drive train, suspension, etc.

The turret maybe to big and that is becuase it is intended as a SPAAG from the begining. I felt that it would be to early to introduce these in this time frame.

As you can see it is based on the LT-38/Hetzer chassi

That looks more appropriate for the 45mm tank- closer to the size of the Russian T-60.

I like the top down view. It probably is a little early for a fully enclosed twin SPAAG. However with Wesworld being 3-5 years ahead in aviation, you see creep into anti-aircraft fields, so less advanced forms may crop up "soon", or may have already and I haven't noticed.

While only a storyline matter (no material sim-changes) the Kongo's fighter evaluation was held adjacent to a tropical swamp and yielded the D.XXI, largely due to the well-developed mercury engine. She does have spare weight, which could be devoted to specialised radiators if you wish :)

How would it handle the required climate and altitudes?

16

Tuesday, January 15th 2008, 1:27am

This is still early in the design process but if it is designed for hot, sandy and high conditions from the outset we foresee no problems. it would ofcourse help significantly if we were allowed to set up facilities in Chile.

It's really too early for a 75mm gun tank, at least one that has a long enough barrel and high enough velocity to want or require a muzzle brake.

18

Tuesday, January 15th 2008, 1:40am

True. the 75mm guns in use in at this time are short barrelled guns...very short.

Revised design posted.

What is the policy on historical designs? Use any that aren´t taken or only those from the country you play?
