Great Britain Report Q2/35

Loads of new BBs and CVs... only kidding. :D

No changes from RLBHs last known reports, I've assumed Q4/34 and Q1 were the same as this and I've removed any previous surplus since I don't need it and its a sweetner to any who feel I might be a meglomanic! Ships completed since Q3/34 left here so they can be accounted for.

Could someone advise me on the submarine situation so I can finish those P-Class subs or scrap them.

The P class was out of treaty compliance. I presume the UK would just leave them incomplete until shortly after the treaty was finally bludgeoned to de.. I mean expired.

On another note, I've always found it intimidating that the UK has more light cruisers than I have destroyers.

There was talk of the UK selling some of the P class subs to just about anyone willing to buy them, Turkey being one of them.

If it's any consolation, he probably has more battleships than India has light cruisers...

He has more Battleships in service than Mexico has ships over 2,000 tons. If you add the BBs under construction he would have more BBs than Mexico has DDs!

One wonders what the worlds rankings are for

Most BBs
Heaviest Battleline
Most Cruisers
Largest DD fleet

etc....

Well, the "heaviest battleline" might not be British, neither in total size of ships in service nor in weight of broadside....

10

Tuesday, November 20th 2007, 10:47pm

The Heavy Hitters

A few quick calculations of total broadside weight:

USA - 132,800kg on 16 ships
British Empire - 106,800kg on 15 ships with 9 more building...
SAE - 105,000kg on 18 ships with 2 more building...
Russian Federation - 101,800kg on 12 ships with 4 more extremely powerful BBs building and 2 disarmed BBs to be rebuilt in 1936 and 1937
Atlantis - 89,600kg on 14 ships

And the Anaheim Mighty Dutch ... 42,886 on 7 vessels...with 2 building (big uns though)
Hmmm,
Ok, I'll go back to the kid's table.

12

Wednesday, November 21st 2007, 3:25am

You're too big to sit at the kids table: Germany's 4 capital ships have a throw weight of only 16,778 kg.......

13

Wednesday, November 21st 2007, 6:05am

That's kinda scary...Canada clocks in at 71,746 lbs (32,544 kg) with just 4 ships... :B

Badda-boom.

14

Wednesday, November 21st 2007, 5:11pm

Atlantis #5 on the list........I have some work to do!

*incert evil laughter here*

15

Wednesday, November 21st 2007, 5:22pm

96270lb between 7 ships with 3 ships throwing 16387lb each on the way.

16

Wednesday, November 21st 2007, 5:26pm

Heh, the Canadian numbers fall a lot if they only count ships in commission, not ones that are still under construction. :)

Hey I can play *that* game- the two Dutch ships under construction have a throw weight of 10,776kg each :)

Exactly: if we're doing things that way, Germany has 4 ships under construction with a throw weight of 8,971 kg each, and 2 under construction with a throw weight of 3,273 kg each. Of course, 1 ship with a throw weight of 4711 kg and another with a throw weight of 4707 kg will go out of service as the first two new BBs come into service.

You have 5 BB's building, not 4.

Hmmm, just an observation, but you may want to consider renaming the QE Class HMS Valiant pretty soon as the Victorious class HMS Valiant is about to be launched from what I can tell in the report.
