Heh. Luckily Germany has very few intelligence agents operating in China, else this suggestion would reach ears in Berlin that would become concerned.

Our world Baltic States-
Estonia: Never gained independence in WesWorld. Continues as integral part of the Russian Federation

Latvia: Mutual defense treaty with Russia since 1924. Currently hosts Rusian forces in one coast defense artillery installation and 1 airbase with a Fighter Aviation Division (45 aircraft). Extensive Russian investments in Latvian railroad and port faciliities.

Lithuania: Various trade agreements, and a contract to assist Lithuania building 1 Fortified region.

So. Only one Baltic State left to invade.

Extending Russian influence

Quoted

and all these nations have fallen under Russian influence in the absence of a Communist government!

Russian Federation is a considerable military power.

Russian Federation has strongly growing economy.

Russian Federation is major exporter of many economically important commodities and manufactured goods.

That Russian influence extends into several neighboring countries should come as no suprise.

Which begs the question, why would China be concerned about the Baltics? I would think Russian influence on Mongolia or Nepal would be more of a worry to China as these country's are much much closer to China.

8

Friday, October 5th 2007, 9:20am

You are surely right thes, but Mongolia and/or Nepal is also nearer to China,
so the chinese influence is also very strong. By the way, for nepal i didn't see
any russian influence because the only two neighbours are china and india !

China is concerned because no country as small as it is, shouldn't be foreigned ruled
by another country. China believes, that Russia tries to invade these two Baltic states
and tried to increase its sphere of influence in this way.

It is only one thought, but this worries China a lot ! If this should be only a groundless
assumption, then it would calm China, if Russia guarantees the sovereignty of the
two States of Latvia and Lithuania!

Atlantis is worried about Formosan and Chosan soverignty as well, that being said what effect does their soverignty or removal there of have on Atlantis? Both nations are on the oposite side of the world and have little to no interaction with Atlantean affairs.

The only corilation between the two nations and Atlantis is their naval power which is widely seen as an extention of Japan's (and now recently China's) fleet and as such greatly effected several naval treaty negotiations in a profound way.

Perhaps China is required to clairify these concerns as well? Does Atlantis have to explain its own relations with Colombia or Mexico or even Canada? Does Iberia have to explain their relations with Peru?

Out of character:

China is concerned <rotfl> about Russia invading <busts gut laughing> Baltic States?? <tears of mirth>

Whatever for? <wipes mirthful tears from eyes>

In character:

If Chinese government communicates their concerns in a diplomatic note to Russian Federation Foreign Ministry, Russian Foreign Ministry can respond to them.

11

Friday, October 5th 2007, 12:25pm

China would like to interfere in no case into the affairs between Russia and other states ! And naturally
Russia needn't to justify itself for its steps. China expressed only its doubts concerning the momentary
situation, no more and not less.

The comparison with Formosa limps nevertheless a little. The population of Formosa has vote itself
for a reunification with China, and China has not invade Formosa or otherwise exerted any pressure
on the island state! Should the populations of Latvia and Lithuania likewise decide for a combination
with Russia, then it is okay. Only an occupation is not applicable for China at all. And that China is
anxious as neighbour state, it is nevertheless understandable, perhaps because Russia arranges then
its attention to China.

The diplomatic note from the chinese government should receive the russian ambassador in Beijing very soon.

12

Friday, October 5th 2007, 12:31pm

Oh, I can see why China (a neighbor of Russia) would be concerned about the fate of the Baltics. Not directly, but as a signal as to what it's own future may be like. After all, if Russia is going through another expansionist phase, certainly there are parts of China that might seem tempting to eyes looking from the West.

13

Friday, October 5th 2007, 1:15pm

Latvia and Lithuania so far have only co-operated with Russia in trade and defence issues to my knowledge.

If that were the precurser to expansion then I suppose Indochina and the Dutch east indies should be worried about SATSUMA expansion into Persia and China in the last 10 years, two country's that had the least to worry about in reguards to foreign colonialism.

14

If Russia tries anything funny with Latvia they'll have my grandfather to deal with! :D

The Russian ambassador sends a diplomatic note from his government to the chinese Prime Minister Chiang Kai Chek. The content was not known, however, summoned the Chinese government's chief shortly after this, his Cabinet together in order to inform the members.

A government spokesman to the representatives of the press indicated that there is no cause for concern there. "We are happy that our concerns regarding a possible invasion of Russia into the baltic states, dissolved as mist in the morning sun. China is happy that Russia, just like China, has followed a path to avoid every kind of war. But China will continue to observe the operations on the border between Europe and Asia carefully."

The spokesman also said, that a chinese delegation will travel soon to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, to discuss the cooperation between both contries.

In Beijing the australian Delegation under the led of First Sea Lord Jackie Fisher, Chief Engineer Danny Scott und Head Manager Kendall Wayland arrives.

The Commander of the chinese navy in an interview: "China is proud to welcome his friends from australia here in Beijing. We will never forget the military support of Australia in the hunt of the Ning Hai. Only with their help, we had finally succeeded to find and destroy the pirate ship. We hope this is the beginning of a long and successfull economic cooperation."

First Sea Lord Jackie Fisher says "Although our two countries are not always on a common thought and China, as a member of SATSUMA, actually have a different course than Australia, so we should not prevent a common economic cooperation."

At first, there is a meeting with the CNDO. China is very interested in the HMAS Enterprise-Design.

15. April
The SATSUMA - conference is cancelled, because the diplomatic note from russia swept away the chinese concerns about an invasion in the baltic states.

16. April
Now it is official. In a pressconferece both delegations told the reporters, that china bought the licence to build a modified version of the HMAS Enterprise. The PRN Fuzhou is to be laid down on 1th January 1936.

19. April
The CNDO extended the duration of the call for the Chinese fleet carrier. The CNDO thanked the creators of the submitted designs so far and hopes that yet one or the other design is provided.

In another message the CNDO presents his plans for the modernization of the chinese fleet in the following years. Thus, the following construction projects approved till now:

Replacing the light cruiser of the Tsugaru class
Replacing the light cruiser of the Tone class
Replacing the light cruiser of the Akashi class
Replacing the heavy cruiser of the Kasuga class
Building of the carrier PRN Fuzhou
Building of a fleet carrier Name not known till now
Building of a huge destroyerfleet
Building of an adequate submarine fleet

As part of this modernization, the surplus ships are handed over to the reserve fleet or have been sold.

23. April
Secret Service reportedly the Tsing Tao and the Qu Ming anchored for a few days before Pattle Island (see attached map). There were already a few barracks established and bulldozers have built a provisionally runway. Even there is a squadron of Gangchuan F-1 fighters and a squadron of Gangchuan RB-31 stationed at Pattle Iceland. China stresses by the creation of this temporary base his claim on the Paracel Islands.

The Chinese Prime Minister said, that the peaceful purpose of this action was to make the smugglers and pirates activities around the Paracels completely suppress. The Prime Minister contradicted the reporters that the Chinese military presence in this area, perhaps anger in other countries would cause.

On behalf of the Iberians......

The Paracels are a proctorate of the Iberian Federation, as voted on by the League (if I remember correctly) and as such, no military forces of any other nation should be in the area.

On behalf of the Danish Government

"We deplore this act of obvoius expansionism by the Chinese Government. Do they believe themselves to be above International laws and agreements?

Iberian and Danish servicemen gave their lives to ensure that no unlawful actions would be launched from these islands by revolutionary or piratical forces."

Quote in "Jyllands Posten" by the Prime Minister, after the actions of the Chinese had been raised during the latest session of the Folketing.
