NEWSTICKER

War in South America ! After a short period of peace the beast war is free again.

Chiang Kai Chek: "With consternation the Chinese government took up the message that between Argentina and South Africa the war broke out. China had to experience in the past that war causes only distress in the population and represents no solution for problems. For this reason China asks both countries to settle their disputes as fast as possible and to aim at a peaceful solution of their problems. Also China hopes that the conflict does not degenerate and that all other countries follow the example of China and were neutrality.

I call all Chinese in the crisis area to leave it as fast as possible.

9. January
The CNDO presents an announcement for a carrier design. In cause of the size of the chinese navy, it should be a "medium fleet" carrier.

Datas:
Size: 15000 - 20000t

Aircrafts: as much as possible
Engines: 3 or 4 shafts / turbines / oil fired

range: round about 6500miles at 15kn

At first, only one ship is to be built, but China buy also the licence to built further ships of this type in the future.

Furthermore the CNDO presents the newest submarine drafts. A detailed description of the types will follow soon.

Weapons: 20mm canon & three 533mm torpedotubes
Engines: Diesel- & E-motors; two shafts

Last but not least, the CNDO presents the Zhuhai-Design (Heavy Seaplane Carrier [HSCV]). Which will be used as the core of the SCSP. Two ships of this type are granted.

The conception of the Zhuhai Design provides for discussion material among experts. Many specialists doubt the necessity for such a ship for the Chinese navy. In contrast to this however the desire of China stands to possess such a ship in order to be able to play within the concert of the large ones.

Out of curiosity, Why does China want a Merchant Sub?

You could likely expect proposals to update Indian designs.

Personally, I'd note that you have five ships in service that require a class three drydock (one of them actually requires a class four), and not a single dock large enough to service them. I'd recommend developing some of the infrastructure necessary to support an ocean-going fleet before you add to that fleet.

Rocky's right, get your infrastructure up to snuff so that when you do get the big toys you have the infrastructure to keep them in fighting trim.

Why bother wasting valuable materials to upgrade the infrastructure for the sake of those big ships if an ally is willing to take care of that problem for you...
... although it will be a matter of "First come. First serve" at the docks. :)

Could be an insidious Japanese plan to keep the Chinese under economic domination? With five ships inherited from Formosa not being capable of being serviced in China proper Japan is forcing China either to use their IP's to further build their infrastructure or to use Japanese facilities.

...and here I thought SATSUMA nations were out to help each other!

10

Of course they are; which is why I think India would be telling its eastern neighbours to beef up its infrastructure so that it is self-reliant.

Ok at least 1 SATSUMA nation wants to help its fellow SATSUMA nations. ;-)

The Philippines might be interested in acquiring 'Chiyoda', should our Chinese allies be willing to sell...

With the assumption of the formosian fleet, unfortunately China does not have the possibility to send all its ships in the case of repair into a suitable dock. But China hopes that his allies in the SATSUMA supports them until the infrastructure in China is developed.

The CNDO presents only drafts whether the appropriate ships are then also built, stand on another sheet.

The sales of the former RFN Chiyoda would be naturally also a possibility.... *send a PM to the Chinese Navy Headquarter*

Didn't you have "Chiyoda" already once?

15

Monday, September 10th 2007, 10:10am

The "Chiyoda" is at present in Shanghai and belongs to the reserve fleet.

I meant in Fillipino service in the past.

29. January
The government of the Phillipines contacted China concerning the purchase of the formerRFN Chiyoda.
The cruiser was deactivated with the integration of Formosa in China and belonged since to the reserve fleet.

3. Februar
The Ith squadron of the SCSP (DDL Yingtan; DD F-5; FR Yamlai) examined on its patrol around the Paracel islands several suspicious vehicles . The examined vehicles are chinese and spanish fishermen. The search brought several tons of Opium to light, which naturally have been seized. The ships were escorted by the chinese destroyer to Zhanjiang, while Yingtan and Yamlai continued the patrol.

Actually that was Nissihin, the sister ship. :)

5. Februar
The convoy with the Chinese destroyer and the fishermen reached Zhanjiang. The "seized" ships were brought to a locked part of the harbour, where the police already took the fishermen in jail.

27. Februar
With the destruction of the Ning Hai in November 1932, the Pirates in the south chinese sea are removed noticeably. As it looks, the leader of the pirates menace was destroyed at that time, because neither the patrol flights of the chinese navy over the south chinese sea nor the patrols of the Chinese navy in this area brought any results of pirates activity.

Since the middle of the last year, the ships of the SCSP (South Chinese Sea Patrol) crosses regularly the waters around the Paracel's. China underlines thereby its requirement on this group of islands, which is momentarily a mandate of the LoN under the guidance of Iberia.

With the reunification with Formosa, China has finally the possibility to provide again this region for security and peace. For this reason, the Chinese Ambassador in Geneva asks the LoN whether it would not be at the time to terminate the mandate and to return the islands to China.

3.March
In Zhanjiang the court hearing with the "drug" fishermen began. In his statement the public prosecutor speaks of a large impact against the drug trust, and hopes that the court speak a hard judgment, in order to show that China fights with all power against drug possession and drug smuggling. Due to the laws in China, the death penalty threatens the smugglers.

19. March
The negotiations over the sales of the RFN Chiyoda become extremely tough.

22. March
The flaggship of the chinese south fleet, the heavy cruiser CA Zunyi finished his trials and is official put into service under commander Yun Pi Lao. During the test travels a few inadequacies in the room layout arose. These are considered and repaired directly with the building of the sister ship CA Guangzhou.

28. March
The CNDO presents its revised Zuhai design. The thought to build a pure heavy seaplane carrier vehicle was rejected. The new draft represents a combination of a seaplane carrier vehicle and antarkic research ship.

The reason for this revision came by the speech of the president to the nation. Therein Chiang Kai Chek promised the population that also China will build a accordingly representative ship to participate in the study of the Antarctic. The first Chinese expedition as well as the founding of a research station in the Antarctic are planned for the year 1938.
