16 of SPAD XIII

32 Bomber Squadrons (16 Aircraft)

Older squadrons are often distributed through French colonies, while the newest are based in France. Major colonial committments are:

Syria - 3 Fighter, 1 Bomber, 4 Observation
Indochina - 4 Fighter, 2 Bomber, 6 Observation
New Caledonia - 2 Fighter, 1 Bomber, 3 Observation

Minor committments are:
Djibuti - 1 Fighter, 1 Observation
Corsica - 1 Fighter

and larger groups of French South Pacific islands, generally with 1 Fighter and 1 Observation squadron
