Diplomatic note from the Nordmark government to Italy
The note appears in Nordmark and Italian newspapers July 1st, the same day it is handed over to the Italian diplomatic representative in Stockholm and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome, in the case of the latter by the charge d'affairs of the Nordmark embassy, rather than the ambassador.
The government of the Kingdom of Nordmark wishes with this note to further express its understanding of Italy's concern for the safety of its merchant shipping. Understanding this, the government of Nordmark has determined to aide the italian government in providing for the safety of Italian merchant shipping, and, understanding that Italian ships sailing in Nordmark waters might be mistaken for Nordmark vessels, should Argentina dispatch raiding vessels to the North Atlantic, the government of Nordmark has decided that italian merchant shipping is not to be allowed in Nrodmark waters for the duration of the conflict.
The government of the Kingdom of Nordmark also would like to take this opportunity to express its regret that our ambassador to Italy has been forced to return to home on very short notice, owing to accute illness in the family. The charge d'affairs of our embassy in Rome has been named acting Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Rome, and the embassy is temporarily downrated to legation for the duration of the ambassador's leave.
