Insignia

Brazilian military aircraft insignia consist of:

* a yellow and green five-point "rotating star" on each side of the fuselage with a blue disc, bordered in white, on the centre of the star (2 positions).

* roundels of green/yellow/blue on the upper and lower surfaces of each wing (4 positions).

* the Imperial flag on each side of the vertical stabiliser (2 positions).

* on some aircraft, the rudder surfaces are painted in green/blue/green stripes in place of the Imperial flag.

FMA F-3 Barron (I-100) demonstrating standard insignia.

Curtiss A-30 (CW-14) with fuselage marking over FANB roundel.

Curtiss F-29 (Hawk II), 'hasty repaint' retaining FANB rudder stripes and painted-out roundels.

Eh, Swampy, I just realized something. The flag you're using? It's the Republic of Brazil's flag. This is the Imperio do Brasil's flag and this is its coat of arms.

EDIT: More importantly for this thread, this is a page with all of Brazil's roundels. They're all for Republic aircraft, but the Empire didn't last long enough OTL to have roundels.

YOU have TOOOOOOO much time on your hands!!!!!!

7

Friday, March 2nd 2007, 3:44am

Far too much, I'm afraid...

Forgot the trainers:

11146-11194: FMA T-514

Maybe

But not enough story ideas. Writer's block is troublesome for someone with so much time on their hands.
Hail, Freedonia!

And here's the Order of Battle broken down by air bases. The original orbat (first post) actually doesn't look too shabby. However, when you go by bases, you realise that the FAB is actually spread rather thin at the moment...

(Hence, the Ultraviolet Priority expansion.)

Note that this includes only operational combat aircraft. Transport, trainer, working-up or on-order aircraft not included.

(See first post in thread for FAB designation system.)
