OTL Sikorsky S-42

Despite the sucess of the Quetzalcoat at the Talons over Cordoba, it became aperant that it was too slow and just couldnt stand up to the newer designs coming on the market. A decision was made to design a new fighter powered with the Curtiss Conquror engine. The fighter was based on the Curtiss P-23s in service with the FAM. While not having the high altitude performance of the Quetzalcoat, the new aircraft is expected to be faster and more maneuverable at a lower level.

Thoughts?

The weight seems extremely low.

It seems too low, at least 500lbs would be taken up by the pilot and guns and other equipment.

That leaves 2000lbs for the fuselage, metal I'm assuming, engine (the Conqueror was heavy) and fuel. Seems unrealisitc to me. Try it in Planebuilder and see what happens.

Mistake on my part. My designs are based primarly on guesswork and research, as I cant use planebuilder, but I didnt bother to do research for this one.
