BT 28.06.21: HEIR MISSING, THE WORLD WONDERS; LIFEBOATS FOUND

HEIR MISSING, THE WORLD WONDERS
Following the death of HM King Gustav V, HM Queen Victoria, and their unborn child, the throne and crown devolve upon the late King's younger brother, Prince Carl Philipp, Lieutenant Commander in the Navy, and senior gunnery officer aboard the cruiser RNNS Sigtuna. This cruiser, along with RNNS Kirkjubæjarklaustur, departed Cape Town nearly two weeks ago, but since the day before the regicide, it has been impossible to make radio-contact with the cruiser. Following a request from the Nordmark government, the South African government has despatched several vessels to search for the two cruisers. Acting regent is HRH Prince Adolph Phillip, the late King's uncle. Already speculation is rife in informed quarters as to the implications of the possibility that the new King might also be dead, and what chaos intowhich this might throw Nordmark.

LIFEBOATS FOUND
According to NTB (Nordmarks Telegram Bureau), the floating whaling-factory Pelagos, en route from Nordmark to Montevideo on a relocation-voyage in preparation for the next season, picked up a large number of shipwreck-survivors found in several lifeboats found drifting off the coast of the Santa Catarina province of Brazil, a short distance North of the border to South African Uruguay. The identity of the vessel from which these lifeboats stem is not clear at the moment. The vessel immediately altered course, and is now headed for the port city of Rio Grande, where hospitals have been placed on alert - arrival is expected to be within five to seven days; unconfirmed reports from Rio Grande are that the hospitals have been told to prepare for a number of persons with splinter-wounds.

Most likely they did carry the name of the ship, but there given that BT is Danish, they will not necessarily be first in line to receive the most up to date news on the situation - and this is almost on the other side of the world, and the Pelagos has not yet reached shore, thus having only morse-code available to relay the most important information.
