Any objections to Alikchi meddling with Bulgaria?

I plan on selling off two older ex-German CLs to Bulgaria this quarter for 1500t total, in exchange for naval assistance and possible future refits and export orders for MTBs, coast defence ships and the like.

Does anyone have any problem with this?

I'm of two minds of it. I don't have any problems with the CL sale and other naval deals, but naval assistance from a black sea locked country for the Philippines? Seems rather odd.

Sorry - I phrased that badly. I will be sending advisors to them and giving them good export deals, rather than the other way around.

Well considering I'm already running Colombia and the republic of Byzantium in a similar way I can't really object.

From an IC point of veiw both Turkey and Byzantium/Atlantis will be watching very closely what goes on there! Last thing we need is exploding ships next door!

Not sure what Roger thinks, I think he did have some earlier influence in the nation via a TB sale IIRC but I think it was merely a sale and not an effort to influence the nation itself.

I'll play safe, no need to worry ;)

The Philippines has a small history with Bulgaria - their one capital unit is an ex-Filipino predreadnaught - so I figure it would be plausible to build on that. I don't intend to influence the politics or write quarterly reports for Bulgaria, although I might do that in the future if I have a lot of spare time...

If you are going to build ships for Bulgaria, keeping track of how they build stuff via quarterly reports is the easiest thing to do.

The only issue I have is that the old German CLs that the Phillipines has are pretty old to be of interest even to Bulgaria. Niobe commissioned in 1900, Hamburg in 1904. They could be mildly useful as escorts for Sofia or the ex-Helgoland once she finishes refit, but......

That's another issue, timing. In Q2, the Bulgars would be busy paying for the refit of Helgolan and several T-1 type TBs (2 completing, 2 more under construction. Both of those projects would eat up funds, though PERHAPS the purchase of CLs would postpone the refit of Helgoland 1 quarter.

No problem here. Wes, it was 2DD to Romania in the late 20's.

Cheers,

I'm good with it.

Just more target practice for my naval air, from the unsinkable Crimean aircraft carrier...

Hmmm. Points well taken.

Perhaps they could be rebuilt, or reconstructed into training or target ships? There must be some use Bulgaria can get out of them.
