Pilot Yun Pi Lao to his copilot Wan Pi "We reach soon the next mark of our flightplan. I ask myself anyway, why we fly here outside. Except the fishing boats there is nevertheless here no ship on the way."

"It was red dragon 3, approx. 230 km southeast of Hainan Dao with course to the Spratly's. Unfortunately we have however no more radio communication to our patrol. At it was fired , when it approached the ship to identify it exactly and apparent had to make an emergency landing. Fortunately it could transmit an approximate position signal to us. We sent immediately two further airplanes into the area. I therefore suggest letting the fleet run out to place and destroy the Ning Hai . "

"All right. Rear admiral Zheng Chenggong is to set course immediately on the last position of the flightboat. In the meantime the two flightboats should also have reached the area and with luck the Ning Hai have regained and then have we them, advance our ships and destroy the pirates once and for all."

As hammer blows the hitting salvos of the machine guns sounds, as they hit the airplane.

"We are hit and loosing Oil ! We have to land before the oil gets in flames and the whole plane explodes. I will try to land our aircraft. Send our position to the HQ and then help me to make the emergency landing. I couldn't fly it a long time, something is destroyed !"

Shortly thereafter the machine impacts in a large water fountain. Yun Pi Lao can save itself and his hurt copilot straight still on a life boat, before the machine sunk."Stay with me, my friend. They have our position and on the search for the Ning Hai they will find and save us."


On Board of the Hong Lung ....

"Rear admiral Chenggong - our weatherman forecast a storm for the target area. Our torpedo boats will have problems to be able to follow us. They are not designed for so heavy weather. We should send them rather back before we lose them in the storm."

"Admiral. We have finally again a message of our reconnaissance aircraft. The Ning Hai is approx. 100 miles directly ahead. But something is wrong with the message. The pilot of the machine announced last the Ning Hai with course NNO, i.e. she would approach directly on us. Apparent he looked wrong, because the Ning Hai would normally try to flee from us and would take course SSW, or am i wrong ?"

"Not necessarily. He knows that we are behind him and that the machine announces us constantly his position. Thus he, if he tries to flee and reach his base, a) would not escape anyway and b) and risk, telling us the exact position of the base of the pirates. Thus he rather fights. Where does Commodore Decker with its squadron actually stand? "

"That is our position, here might be now momentarily the Ning Hai and here runs Decker with his Task Force. "

Also on board the flagship of the Chinese navy, each discussion turns around the tomorrow's day. All weapons are checked throughly, each smallest problem is examined again thoroughly and each incorrect part is, if possible, replaced. Toughly the time flows there…

On board of the Hong Lung:

"Attendant, have we still another flightboat in the air ?"

"Aye Admiral. Red Dragon 7 is still in contact with the Ning Hai, we must see him momentary. Fortunately it did not lose over the night the contact with the Ning Hai. The pirate ship still keep direct course to us, and would have to come likewise soon into range of vision. What will you do ?"

"We will peacefully try it, should that nothing use, for us nothing else will remain remaining to sink as the ship."


some minutes later

"Admiral ! Smoke column bearing 350°. Fortunately we still stand before the dark horizon, whereas the Ning Hai will appear clearly soon before the bright horizon.
As soon as the ship is visible, send following flashing signal: Here is admiral Chenggong on board of the chinese flagship Hong Lung. Stop immediately - show white flag and surrender. Send a boat !"
Signal to Wenshan and Manning - take Ning Hai as target and to open the fire if necessary immediately. “

"AO - target is Ning Hai - set target, but do not fire. I repeat, set target but do not fire."

"Eye Admiral"

"Admiral. The Ning Hai does not react to our signals. Shouldn't we open the fire?"

"No not yet. Try it again with the signal lamp and by radio. If they should refuse further, set a warning shot before their bow."


After still no reaction takes place from the Ning Hai on the calls of the chineses ships, for the first time since the great war chinese ships shoot again. With a long yellow flame tongue the front towers of the Hong Lung fire a salvo toward the pirate ship. With a high Waterspout the salvo strikes 100m before the nose of the NING HAI in the water.

At the same time the cannons of the Wenshan and Manning pivot on the NING HAI, and wait only for the signal for fire opening for the pirate ship.
