June 18, 1932- Lima

Today is was released by the War Ministry that a deal was reached with the British company Vickers for the delivery of 60 Carden-Loyd Mark IV machine-gun carriers and 60 Vickers 6-ton tanks, divided in 36 Type A and 24 Type B. A quoted source in the War Ministry cited the reason the deal was reached by the Peruvian government as “an attempt by our nation to at least increase our defensive capabilities in the trying times we are living in.”

Hrolf, Perdedor can you guys get a fleet list up? I'm trying to figure out what happened to those french build DD's Peru had. IIRC their scrap tonnage was exchanged for the new DD's?

Not exchanged per se, but yes, they're gone for razor blades. I can probably manage a fleet list, it's not too extensive right now: 1 BB on order, 1 CDBB, 4 CLs, 2 DDs with 2 on order, and 2 subs with two on order.

[Whoops, forgot: the two subs are tied up alongside at the moment, the crews are in Germany training on P-1, getting ready to sail it to Peru late in this quarter.]
