Well,

with a hull strength of 1.06, you could probably afford a 60mm deck and some light flak.

Apart from that, she's suitable for the Baltic.

Either that or a slightly higher speed. Given the fact shes a Baltic ship I'd go with more armor.

I like the mini-CA idea. :) Reminds me of the Furutakas.

I'd also suggest mounting the 6x7.99" guns in 2 triples instead of 3 twins if your going to use an all forward layout. It will likely cut down your belt armor length.

Everybody missed the torpedo bulkhead? Marek, could you please explain why you think such a feature is worth the weight/material on such a small hull where you can´t have enough room inside her hull anyway?

Thanks.

The torpedo bulkhead would certainly make things much more cramped.

The idea behing this ship is to have a small heavy cruiser at low price. The other alternative is to build a Light Cruiser with torpedo heavy armament an Conrad follow on.

Huh?!?

8 - 7,99" / 203 mm guns (3 mounts), 255,24lbs / 115,78kg shells, 1933 Model
Breech loading guns in turrets (on barbettes)
on centreline, all forward, 1 raised mount - superfiring

Huh?!? What kind of arrangement is that? What´s the benefit?

3 2(superfiring) 3
Benefit is that 8 gun salvo is prefered by the admirality. Its that or Tone lay out.
the difrence betwin 8 and 9 guns is marginal the idea is for the ship to be small.

Thats my main concern...
so I go with Torpedo boats on steroids.

13

Tuesday, September 19th 2006, 10:57am

I'd go with a 6x7.99"(2x3), 8x4.33" DP (4x2) a decent AA (20mm and 40mm or 37mm) armament and an increase in light displacement to an even 9,000 tons.

Two 10,000 ton ships would be better unless cost is an issue.

Just watch out for my new TB's

15

Tuesday, September 19th 2006, 3:17pm

I like her, it's something different. What she needs is some torpedoes.

16

Tuesday, September 19th 2006, 4:53pm

I've just realised you've got no Heavy, medium or light AA, not good in the Baltic.
