Request for Tenders

The Fuerza Aerea Argentina has the need for thirty second-hand fighters to fill the capabilty gap until the I-100 enters service next year. Aircraft must be ready to be delivered from Q3.

Can be monoplane or biplane, speed over 300km/h, armament of 2x7.7mm MG and a reasonable range.

The Commando de Aviacion Naval Argentina has the need for twelve new flying boats.

Can be biplane or monoplane, good self-defence armament and at least 500-1000kg of bombs/DC/ torpedoes, must have long endurance. Delivery from Q4 needed.

The Aerea Armada de Filipinas is in the process of phasing out the Savoia-Marchetti S.55 flying boat, and has several dozen examples available. Many did good service in putting down the coup.

The United Kingdom can offer nearly new Hawker Furies at cut prices, older Fairey Fox fighters or Gloster Gamecocks, also available nearly new.

As regards flying boats, the Short Singapore is available.

Accrisius FN-7 "Archer" fighterbomber and the Ripon R-7 "Pelecanus(Pelican)" flying boat are all available.

Spartan FN-8 "Cyclone" high altitude fighters could be offered as well but obviously do not meet the "used" requirement.

The Winners are...

For the fighter requirement: Accrisius FN-7 "Archer", 24 second-hand to be delivered for Q3. Chosen for the good performance, cheap prices and bombing capability.

For the Flying Boat requirement: Fokker T.IVa, 24 to be brought in Q4 for delivery from Q1 1933. Chosen because it is modern and will fill a gap until larger types enter service later in 1934.
