So the Do 17 is just a "mailplane" is it? Do they normally deliever the mail via bomb-bay doors? :0)

Naturally! That's the quickest way to deliver the mail. ^_^

Heh, well, the V1 isn't fitted with a bomb bay, so we can't drop the mail from overhead that way.

September 5, 1931 - Geneva

Foreign Minister Stresseman has left Geneva for Berlin after a meeting that he described as "a frank, business-linke meeting." "Discussions were wide-ranging, with many questions being asked and answered, leading to follow-on questions and so on. A good meeting, as meetings with the Swiss usually are."

September 8, 1931 - Berlin

The Luftwaffe has published two new requests for proposals to industry.

The first, for a schnellbomber, or fast bomber, looks for a twin-engined aircraft with a maximum speed of 375 km/h, a bomb load of 500 kg, and a range of 750 km. With this speed, little defensive armament is expected to be necessary, so only 2 7.92mm MG15s are specified.

The second, for a new single-engined fighter design, required a speed of 400 km/h at 6000m, an armament of 2 MG17s and 2 MG151s, and a wing loading of less than 100kg/m2.

In response to the escalating disaster in the Phillipines, the German government has declared a quarantine on all goods, creatures, vessels, aircraft, and persons that have come from or transited the Phillipines since the beginning of August. "Luckily, only a small fraction of our commerce is with our Phillipino friends, but still, this will be no small undertaking", said President Braun. "We are in consultation with the government of the Phillipines and will endeavor to aid them in their trials as best we can. If that means that we ship materials from Germany across Russia and arrange with the Russians to deliver those materials via an airdrop, that is what we shall do."

In response to the request from the Phillipines, stocks of gas masks remaining from the Great War are being prepared for shipping via the Trans-Siberian Railroad tp the Phillipines. Along with the gas masks, the German chemical industry is being scoured for any extra protective gear that it has available for shipment, and the Government has placed a rush order for additional clothing and gloves to replace what is being sent to the East and to have more on hand.

September 26, 1931 - the Polish border

A long train (71 box cars) of supplies for the Phillipines has left Germany on it's trip across Europe and Asia. The supplies will have to be reloaded in Russia because of the different gauge of the Russian rails, but even with this rework they will reach the East more rapidly than by ship.

September 28, 1931 - Berlin

The news that the disease first found in the Phillipines has been found in mainland China and in India has been quite a shock. Gathering of additional supplies has begun, and the factories producing protective gear have brought in extra staff to expand their hours of operation.
