1. Azerbaijan Backs Down

Sizeable numbers of Azerbaijani troops guarding the border with our nation were withdrawn over the last few months, after it appeared that the fervor for war in the Majlis was quite strong. Turkey's troop build-up on their border with Azerbaijan certainly helped to expedite the removal of Azerbaijani troops as well. A majority of the members of the parliament that commented on this action think that this is quite a diplomatic victory for Persia, but a few insist that this will only draw Azerbaijan closer to stronger foreign nations, especially those fearful of the powerful SATSUMA organization.

2. Afghanistan Apologizes

Shah Reza the Great received an apology directly from King Nadir Shah of Afghanistan last week stating that the Afghani nation takes full responsibility for the horrific attacks by nomads earlier this year, and that those responsible will be severely punished. It is hoped that through peaceable cooperation the depredations of bandits in the border regions will be halted.

3. Atlantean Torpedo Boats Debut

The new motor torpedo boats Jarahi and Mand were purchased last month from Atlantis, and have now arrived at the naval base at Bandar-e Abbas, where they will be evaluated by naval personnel that were trained in their operation in Atlantis earlier this year. As far as can be seen at this time, the two vessels seem to be performing quite satisfactorily.
