Black Gold

I keep hearing about what an important resource oil in the Middle East is to certain countries in the WW, but I'm wondering if its totally an OOC thing, or if my country will actually ever be able to benefit from it in-sim in any way. Could a moderator help out on this?

well

I don't think we've taken it farther than "Country X has access to oil, and a number of tankers, so he can keep his fleet going. Country y needs an ally with oil and some tankers, otherwise he'd better stick to coal-firing."

Its basically an IC thing, there is no real benifit to having oil in wesworld other than your sitting on something everyone wants IC and is willing to wage war over IC.

In sim terms there is no benifit, one of many loopholes in the current WW setup.
