The Peggy Brown project small DD.

This is a Destroyer that will propably enter production in 1932
I design the ship to to meat the my reqairments of large torpedo firepower and good speed.I tryed to make it as small as posible

Peggy Brown, Poland Destroyer laid down 1932

Displacement:
1 014 t light; 1 056 t standard; 1 156 t normal; 1 236 t full load

Dimensions: Length overall / water x beam x draught
343,87 ft / 331,36 ft x 31,17 ft x 9,35 ft (normal load)
104,81 m / 101,00 m x 9,50 m x 2,85 m

Armament:
3 - 4,33" / 110 mm guns in single mounts, 40,61lbs / 18,42kg shells, 1932 Model

8 - 1,57" / 40,0 mm guns (2x4 guns), 1,95lbs / 0,89kg shells, 1932 Model
Anti-aircraft guns in deck mounts
on centreline, evenly spread, all raised mounts
4 - 0,79" / 20,0 mm guns in single mounts, 0,24lbs / 0,11kg shells, 1932 Model
Anti-aircraft guns in deck mounts
on side ends, evenly spread, all raised mounts - superfiring
10 - 0,31" / 7,9 mm guns in single mounts, 0,02lbs / 0,01kg shells, 1932 Model
Machine guns in deck mounts
on side, evenly spread, 2 raised mounts
Weight of broadside 139 lbs / 63 kg
Shells per gun, main battery: 220
8 - 23,6" / 600 mm above water torpedoes

Machinery:
Diesel Internal combustion motors,
Geared drive, 2 shafts, 29 719 shp / 22 170 Kw = 34,00 kts
Range 3 000nm at 15,00 kts
Bunker at max displacement = 181 tons

Complement:
98 - 128

Cost:
£0,607 million / $2,429 million

Distribution of weights at normal displacement:
Armament: 17 tons, 1,5%
Machinery: 597 tons, 51,6%
Hull, fittings & equipment: 385 tons, 33,3%
Fuel, ammunition & stores: 142 tons, 12,3%
Miscellaneous weights: 15 tons, 1,3%

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
364 lbs / 165 Kg = 9,0 x 4,3 " / 110 mm shells or 0,3 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1,19
Metacentric height 1,2 ft / 0,4 m
Roll period: 12,0 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 70 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0,19
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1,02

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has raised forecastle, rise forward of midbreak
and transom stern
Block coefficient: 0,419
Length to Beam Ratio: 10,63 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 20,89 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 68 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 69
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 30,00 degrees
Stern overhang: 0,00 ft / 0,00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 21,65 ft / 6,60 m
- Forecastle (20%): 18,37 ft / 5,60 m (17,39 ft / 5,30 m aft of break)
- Mid (50%): 17,06 ft / 5,20 m (10,50 ft / 3,20 m aft of break)
- Quarterdeck (15%): 10,50 ft / 3,20 m
- Stern: 10,50 ft / 3,20 m
- Average freeboard: 14,35 ft / 4,38 m

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 180,2%
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 57,3%
Waterplane Area: 6 680 Square feet or 621 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 61%
Structure weight / hull surface area: 29 lbs/sq ft or 143 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):
- Cross-sectional: 0,50
- Longitudinal: 2,19
- Overall: 0,58
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is cramped
Room for accommodation and workspaces is cramped
Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform

At first I wonted to use the name Burza the best ship that ever sailed under the polish banner, but that name is allready used by Swamphen for the 1926 DD also a proud name in the polish navy dosent fit as Błyskawica wose a leader type ship sometimes referd to as a torpedo cruiser so I used a name that hase nothing to do with history
The name comes from an song by Polish band Myslovic.

For a sketch its a good picture and provides a good idea of what your DD will look like.

I wonder about the very large and massive funnel. Why using such a configuration? Wouldn´t it cause some troubles when winds are coming from the side? Have you thought about top weight?

Your SS report say that two guns are aft with only 1 mounted forwards.

Probably wont get two funnels, more likely a single one because of the small size.

Nawalnica=storm,tempest,blizzard,hurricane
