News from Atlantis Q3/28

July 1, 1928

The Atlantean navy continues to modernize its naval forces. The newest heavy cruisers to join the fleet, ANS Astyanax and Sarpedon have completed trials and have joined the Northern Fleet at Phelleus. The two Menelaus cruisers sport eight 203mm guns and a respectable speed to operate with the carriers currently in the fleet.

The latest carrier to join the fleet, ANS Alioth is but a few months away from completion and will join the Astyanax and her sister as the Atlantean navy transforms into an even more powerfull naval force. Meanwhile the four new CL's of the Ares class are currently on trials. The class is a significant improvement over existing CL designs such as the Caracus class.

Plans to modernize the existing Pioneer and Medusa class CA's into CL's along similar lines to the ANS Active are being finalized.

A very large explosion rocked a warehouse in Maracay, Venezuela today. Local officials stated that this was almost certainly an anarchist attack as the warehouse did not house any significantly volitile merchandise but was used largely by local government services.

The Chilean Navy has asked the Atlantian Government to set up a study to convert the incomplete hull of the cruiser Mapuche into an aircraft carrier. Details as to what the navy has in mind were not given, but since Chile has no aircraft carriers, it will probably be something akin to the British Glorious, or American Sacket Harbors. The ANS Alioth currently near completion is a likely example of just what the Carrier will look like.

Following a botched bank robbery attempt in Petare, Venezuelan police aprehended several Anarchists! Under what was discribed as "intence interogation" police gathered extremely valuable information, but would not comment any further on what that info was, what anarchist groups the suspects belonged to or if Atlantian secret service agents were present durring the interogation.

The Indian cruiser Dhaka under command of Captain Sehwag, the Chilean cruiser Admiral O'higgins commanded by Captain Chavez and the motor torpedo boat tender Loki, commanded by Captain Rolf Forsberg have been credited with the sinking of the dreaded Arcadia and its famed pirate Captain Harlock. It seems fate interveined in the peacefull travels of the newest Indian Cruiser, the Chilean cruiser escorting her and a danish ship running an un-expected errand ultimately leading to the Pirate ship being cornered and hunted down in a battle which is surely to become something of folklore in Chilean history.

Sept 29, 1928

Well given the year we are currently in, the attitudes towards torture and the region in question I'd say its damn close and would certainly be classed as torture by todays standards.

I'll have to take a peek to see if there is anything that would indicate that Venezuela is violating any points of the Geneva or Hague Conventions...

It is only a violation if they signed it.

I know. And even if they did it historically, it does not necessarily mean they signed it in the Wesworld.

The key here is do anarchists follow Hague or Geneva convention rules?
