A somewhat OT drawing...
I've always loved the pre-WW2 US Navy color schemes, with the bright colors, etc... and have been wondering what a modern fighter would look like painted like that. The result looks pretty good, in my opinion.
Indeed "somewhat" OT, because I have a feeling that this is how the Wesworld US jetfighters will look like.

Just one thing, wasn't the rudder usually covered in horizontal red and white stripes?
The stripes were later, the early '40's once they switched to a grey overall scheme. 13 red and white alternating usually. This scheme is circa. 1938-39 when the tail color symbolized which carrier they were based on. CV-6 was blue, CV-5 red, CV-2 was yellow, CV-3 green, etc...
