Balkan Security Meetings
Greece attended a series of meetings hosted by Romania over the summer of 1925 to address security issues in the region. Romania suggested a reformation of the Balkan League to foster cooperation amongst Yugoslavia, Romania and Greece. Greece declined a solid commitment to any defensive treaty and held that security threats in the region were not sufficient to warrant a reformation of the League.
In separate sessions, Romania expressed interest in the construction of two destroyers of Greek manufacture with the option of a further two. If approved, the two ships will be built in 1926. The selected
2000ton design includes five 5" guns and six torpedo tubes with a top speed of 33 knots.
