For the first time, there will be more than one Admiral in the Filipino fleet.
Vice-Admiral Juan Diego de la Vega announced today several promotions for Marina de Filipinas officers...
Commodore D. Lopez Garcia, Chief of Operations for the MDF, will be promoted to Rear-Admiral.
Also gaining Rear-Admiral's stars will be the commanding officer of the battleship Fernando, Captain Adama, who showed fine logistical skills during the recent operations in the Kalayaan Islands. Admiral Adama will be given command of the First Fleet.
A few other Captains were promoted to Commodore...
