Isn't MN Africa a bit ambiguous?

How about MN Republique?

thanks

Nice one. I didn't think of that. Thanks.

40x 40mm?

Nice to know she can carry those but in 1924?

Impressive design, a brawler for sure. IIRC the G-3's currently mount 24 40mm, if you look at the armament of MN France, she lacks a heavy hitting medium caliber like a 5.5" or 6" mount. Just because they are 40mm doesn't mean they will be as effective as the WW2 American bofors. The ships also lack a light AAA armament.
Forty guns may be abit much, I wonder if India's carrier strike influenced that number?

Like 'em!

But I assume there'll be no Richelieus in WesWorld? :(

Re: AA - that's the same number of 40mm that I intend to have on my 1941 Flak-cruisers, except they're Type 2-sized... I have no problem with 'em, but agree they should have a light battery (15/17/20/25mm - somewhere in there), and maybe some MGs as well (7.62mm?) - after all, SS 2.0.1 allows five gun batteries... ;)

Richelieus

Don't give up hope, Swampy. MN France and MN Republique use up a lot of France's BB tonnage. The replacements for the Provence class will be smaller, but it looks like the Med needs a heavyweight contender...

Larger secondaries

I suppose if I cut back on the 300mm barbette armor below the deck, I might get more/bigger secondaries and some light AA. I'll give that a try.

I find the range quite interesting. How about naming one 'Indochine'? ;-)

Sunday, October 10th 2004, 7:05pm

I broke the code!

Okay, I've figured out what I've been doing wrong. I've thought that the above freeboard guns and the below freeboard guns had to add up to the number of guns of that calibre. As you all know, 'tain't so.

I was greatly confused, but no longer. I'll be redoing all my SS-2 designs now.

So here's MN France with that little screwup corrected:

Btw, why is France allowed to lay down those two units? Is France building up to treaty limits or are those two units replacements? If so, for which units?

Thanks,

HoOmAn

The first MN France, as historical, hit an uncharted rock and sank. France already was alowed to lay down a BB, so with the sinking of France they can now lay down 2 new BB's.

100mm barbette????

What was I thinking??

I dropped the speed a quarter knot, fiddled a bit with the hull, and reduced the magazine to 100 shells/gun
