Stop already, you are starting to scare me!!

4

Saturday, October 2nd 2004, 2:21am

Did Hood have hoists for the 5.5" guns?

Better plan a refit with some extra armour. Otherwise, we've seen how this movie ends...

5

Saturday, October 2nd 2004, 6:11am

IIRC Hood had 2x8 2 pdr. pom pom mounts not 4x4, other than that very nice!

You'll likely need to sim Tiger as well as she'll still be in service till the G-3's come into service.

I'm looking forward to you BB designs, except when I'm in sim mode, then you'll find me under the nearest rock.

6

Saturday, October 2nd 2004, 10:01am

Both HMS Renown and HMS Repulse were being re-armoured. Their stats would change to a 9" thick belt instead of 6". I think about an extra 0.5-1" deck armour was added as well.

Again, try using 100rpmg.

7

Saturday, October 2nd 2004, 3:15pm

Nice work, Gravina.

I have to agree with SA, too. You really need to sim Tiger as well!!

8

Sunday, October 3rd 2004, 12:40am

I´ll post Tiger tomorrow. As for the 2 pdrs, I know Hood had 2x8, but I´m trying to standarize the mounts, so I´ll go with the quadruples in Wesworld.

I´ve simmed a turret superfiring amidships to represent the space between the two aft turrets.

SS201 doesn't have the 'Aft turrets separated by engine room' option?

Nice looking ship. Wish she was for sale. ;)

At least I have not found it...

Sunday, October 3rd 2004, 7:15pm

Use "Turrets (aft > fore)"

13

Sunday, October 3rd 2004, 7:58pm

Actually, the best option is using "Centerline(distributed)". You'll get a "Aft turrets separated by engine room" note in the report. Problem is, your turrets aren't exactly evenly distributed throughout the hull.

8 - 13,50" / 343 mm guns (4x2 guns), 1.230,19lbs / 558,00kg shells, 1909 Model
Breech loading guns in turrets (on barbettes)
on centreline, evenly spread, 2 raised mounts
Main guns limited to end-on fire
Aft Main mounts separated by engine room

Try and move trim towards the left hand side.

HMS Princess Royal has a break in her hull before X turret, but SS.2 assumes that no heavy guns are mounted on the quaterdeck. To solve this, use the midbreak as your step point but adjust length to 80% instead of 50%.
