Saaras

Name: Junkers Ju-87C
Type: Carrier-based dive bomber
Crew: 2
Max Speed: 242 mph at 13000'
Range: 400 miles
Wingspan: 45' 3" (folded wings capable)
Length: 36' 1"
Armament: 2 fixed 7.92 mm machine gun, firing forward; 1 ring-mounted 7.92 mm machine gun in rear cockpit; 1 x 250kg on centreline underneath fuselage; 2 x 50kg under wings

Notes: First operational dive bombers in the BNS, they entered service late in 1937. Not considered satisfactory due to their short range. Only 36 ordered to serve as transitional model until a native design could enter service. Discarded from carrier service in 1941 but continued to serve from a land-based capacity until middle of the decade.
