In a secondary role it is able to fulfill the need for a road security and convoy escort vehicle. Looks good, might pick up some exports too. Nice artwork from Brock too.
Any details on what the alternative armament choices are?

The chassis would lend itself to a wide variety of options. While the Heer has originally specified twin 7.92mm machineguns, I think that it would find in short order to upgrade to an autocannon in the 20-30mm range for its 'deep penetration' vehicle, while the MGs would be adequate for the convoy escort role.

By dispensing with the scouts carried for dismounted work you could turn the Fennek into a support vehicle with a turret-mounted 5cm gun, or something of that class; a mobile mortar carrier, an armored ambulance, mobile command post etc. If a potential customer wanted something in particular the designers would make it so.
