I would agree, its the better fit dimensionally and has the better performance.
It lacks a radar but the RANAS still has the radar-equipped Bathurst scout variant which could be used for scouting thus allowing the Skyraiders to concentrate on the strike role.
So I think I will go with the Skyraider.

Radar pods are an option for the Skyraider, or, if you are looking for an fleet radar picket, there were dedicated Skyraiders in that role.

The Canadian CF-15 Frisbee would be the perfect fighter for the hybrid/escort carriers. I think there where plans for improved versions of the XF5U with turboprops as well.

Just taking a minute to chime in that I haven't vanished into the ether, but I did have some issues with mom's care come up, and I ended up having to go through a rather convoluted move over most of the summer.
