Dornier Do330E Electronic Reconnaissance Aircraft



A new version of the Do330 now in service with the Marineflieger, and the Luftwaffe. It is an adaptation of the basic Dornier Do330 airframe to the specialized electronic reconnaissance role. Fitted with:

FuG (Funkgerät) 200 Hohentwiel – UHF radar optimized for maritime patrol

FuG 227 Flensburg – passive radar detector to give warning of approaching interceptor aircraft

FuG 244 Bremen – omnidirectional airborne search radar, suitable for fighter control

FuG 350 Naxos – adaptation of passive radar warning equipment to monitor a wide range of radars

Also equipped to monitor voice communications over air-to-air and air-to-ground circuits
